Classic Bloody Mary. Always love the classics.

Edit:

Forgot to add my Mint Julep.

The Mint Julep is an old cocktail that uses whiskey infused with mint leaves. A very nice drink

A bit of trivia: James Bond is known to drink martinis. However in the 1964 Bond movie Goldfinger, there is a scene where James Bond is drinking a Mint Julep.

Smoked Oaxacon Old Fashioned

With Dulce Vida 100 proof anejo, mezcal, piloncillo, Orange bitters and real smoke.

As you can see. There is wood smoke inside the glass that the bartender trapped. When you lift the lid, the glorious smoke fills the room and you are left with a delicious smoked cocktail. Fit for a king.

Siestita..( name of the drink the bar called)

This one had mezcal, Campari, grapefruit. The mezcal was infused with spicy habanero hot peppers.

What an incredible cocktail. It had that complexity of the mezcal but also the spicy heat of the habanero peppers. The Italian Campari added that element of bitterness to take it further. The flavors were all over the place but still had a great focus. Fantastic!

Aviation

An outstanding cocktail that was mentioned in a 1916 book. An old one but an icon.

This cocktail contains gin, lemon juice, maraschino liqueur and crème de violette.

Also….

Calvados with a side of espresso

Calvados is like a French cognac but it’s made from apples so it’s kind of like an apple whiskey in some ways. I love it with a shot of espresso on the side.

When I was in Paris I would have Calvados in the cafes and small espresso type coffees. So having this reminds me of my trip to Paris

A budget tripel beer, but it is so good, for only half the price of a Karmeliet or Westmalle that I don't find a reason getting these more expensive classics.
Maybe a tad less smooth?, but a very rich flavor, with a well balanced (not-IPA levels) hoppy bitterness and a good amount of carbonation.

Was this actually good? I can imagine it very easily being too many flavors. Piloncillo is a really strong, complex flavor.

Spareribs, I'm impressed. Seems like you eat and drink a lot of interesting things in many different places. Do you travel a lot? For pleasure or work? I always imagine you going out alone, which I also find impressive (or something. I guess.). But who knows, maybe you're with an army of friends that aren't in your pictures.

It was good. I think it was a small amount of pilonchillo so nothing was overdone.

I do travel a few times a year. In recent times I was traveling more than normal and it’s for pleasure not work.

Also, most of the time I eat and drink alone because none of my friends are foodies. Often on social media or YouTube you see a lot of foodie stuff but in the real world, I feel most people are not foodies and would rather just eat and drink the same stuff they are familiar with since childhood. Since I love eating and drinking different things, I have no choice but to go out and do it alone. However it’s a lot of fun.
