Absinthe cocktail

With Rye whiskey, brandy, lime juice, tonic wine, mint and absinthe

There’s also a plastic implement if you notice in the photo.

In that plastic piece, there is an extra amount of absinthe if you desire to add more absinthe into the cocktail. Or you can simple use it to sip the straight absinthe separately into your mouth if you want that extra burst of pure absinthe taste.

This is a very strong cocktail and the bar recommends the customers not to drink more than 2 of these. Also the presentation is exquisite. Kudos to the bartender.

Coffee from a 1970s McDonald’s coffee cup (purchased from eBay)

What’s interesting about this historical cup is that it’s a small cup of about 8 ounces.

Back in the old days, coffee, soda and food portions were smaller in America. There is this thought that food sizes are bigger in America but in the old days, sizes were actually conservative.

Future archeologists would find this cup interesting.

FYI….McDonald’s did give or sell cups and glasses back in the old days.

Edit:…..While I’m on the topic of food sizes, McDonald’s Big Mac burger was invented in the 1960s. Back then, it was considered big. By today’s standards in the USA, it’s actually not really a big sandwich anymore.

Mexican Cola from the Bottle...

Nothing like a crisp cold bottle with real cane sugar!

Elijah Craig bourbon

A lot of people like this and despite it being 94 proof, it’s actually smooth in my opinion.

To be honest, I think this is somewhat of a boring whiskey and it lacks that extra “sparkle” you will find in other whiskeys but the reason why I got it is because it works really well in the Old Fashioned cocktails. I feel that it synergies well with other cocktail ingredients.

In my opinion this is a “safe” whiskey where most whiskey drinkers will like it and it can even be an “everyday” whiskey since it’s well balanced in flavor.

I paid about $31 dollars. So it’s relatively affordable and worth it in my opinion

Edit: This is not a photoshop pic. Sometimes my iPhone makes photos look a little artificial.
