What are the best mid range beyer's?

I know the 770pro's are out, but what about the 770's2005 880's and 990's?
What about the AHDenon 2000's do those have great mids?

DT880's mids aren't that good IMO (if that's what you mean). They're OK but don't have the nice sweet tone of Grado's or the K701's.

I've actually enjoyed the mids on my DT880s. They're definitely a bit recessed, but quite smooth.

If you're looking for more pronounced mids, though, the DT880 are not a good choice.

I had the DT880 '05 and DT990 '05 at the same time. To my ears the DT880 had a more realistic and life-like midrange of the two, so that was the one I kept.

Both have a slight warmth in the midrange compared to HD600 (which I find to have a very natural midrange). DT990 have more warmth than DT880 in the midrange, and the DT990 had also got a brighter midrange. The DT880 midrange is rather dark to my ears.

The midrange of DT880/DT990 is warmer than HD600 but less warm than HD650 and RS1.

Both the DT770 2005 consumer edition and the DT150 have good mids.
The D2000 sounded recessed to my ears, especially vocals.

erm... 990 warmer mids than the hd600. hmmm I don't agree. Well, maybe in amount of lower mids but the mids are definitely presented dryer on the 990s

DT250 for both mid ranges.

I think i'd go for that - but only if you're the sort that enjoys a warm non-fatiguing headphone.

Definitely the DT250s - very good midrange and well balanced sound.

Clear, that is because the DT48 doesn't has almost any bass that intrude in the midrange. My HFI-780 with DT990 drivers might sound very similar to them. They sound much more detailed and analytical that stock DT990s, and are mid centric (they haven't almost any bass, because the drivers are much further from the ear (about the double than stock DT990s).

No brainer! The 48's. I bought all 3 770/880/990 and none came close to beating the 48's. But if you want a lush, or warm midrange these are not for you
