Anyone who used a Stax SRD-7 Pro or another model and switched to the WooWee? Can you compare?

Hey all, my Wee is on the way and I've heard a couple people talking about mods to the Wee for increased performance. Any idea which mods they're referring to?

Thanks :)

Have been thinking about getting one of these. Are you still using the Wee with estats?

I have been using the Stax SRX-7 Pro for many years. I love that I can use different amps to get the sound I like best. The Woo Wee is a good option, better for than the current ifi with a built in amp or Topping EHA5. If you truly want the best a transformer based solution, get a unit with C core transformer from Lundahl. Birgir aka Moejner, has an assembled setup for about $1500, 3 times the cost of the Woo Wee. The open c transformer does not get saturated, so better bass.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm familiar with Spritzer from many of his posts on the Headcase forum and have always read good things about his gear, as well as the designs of Kevin Gilmore. They're a bit pricy for me as my only electrostatic system is a Stax SRS 44, which I am rather fond of. I'm interested in the Wee because it wires up to a power amplifier the same way that the SRS 44 does and I believe will power both standard and pro versions of Stax headphones.

You know, you can checkout the Stax SRD-7 Mk II, which has both normal and Pro bias sockets. But by all means keep looking at the Woo Wee.
