Warmest sound with softest treble? The 215, 315 or 425?

The 215 is the most bassy with nicely rolled off treble while the 315 remains the most neutral sounding.  The 315 does roll off really fast in the treble and may not be the best choice for treble intense music.

Here is a graph to help show what I hear:

My vote goes for the 315 or if you can stretch the budget the 535 as it is definitely worth the wait and extra cred.

Thankyou!

Its for acoustic music e.g. Joni Mitchell J.S.Bach choral and chamber.

I did want a neutral sound but after trying Shure 940s I realised I will have to only listen to whatever IEM's or headphones that I can tolerate.

To avoid ear pain I reckon I need:
A soft treble
A warm sound

And to help clarity because the volume has to be only just at the point of audibility plus one notch (maybe 2), then I think the following attributes would be desirable:
High resolution
Transparency

Since reminding myself that my listening volume will be incredibly low now I have face up to the fact that actually flat may be undesirable and slightly boosted bass may be useful.

Why just Shure?

Personally I find the Westone Pro30 or W30 are better choices.....more lush sounding as far as vocals go.  Shures have an unpleasant spike in the upper midrange/lower treble that just hurts the ears relative to Westones.   Very easy to hear side by side.  I love Joni as well!

The SE215s are the one's you are looking to get. Being an owner of all 3, I can confidently say to skip the 315s. The SE425's are the most accurate sounding and balanced between the 215, 315, and 535s.

Thank you

I also owned the 315, 425 and 535 - and IMO the 315 were by far the worst - definitely not as neutral as the 425, and a metallic (at times) top end.

I agree with you - the 215 is the one the OP is looking for.  My favourite by far though was the 425 - and I am still very tempted to repurchase a pair one of these days.

I agree too.....  SE215.  Kind of veiled cloudy midrange and rolled off high's.   It's definitely the best IEM for that and the best way to go.

If somewhere down the line you might prefer more revealing treble and better air/clarity in the midrange, W30 could be an IEM that you might consider.
