Just thought I would let you all know that the A1000 is now listed at Audio Cubes for $279.00 US (the same as the A100Ti was). Not available until Monday, November 25 though.

Sorry, I would have posted these two together but I must have hit it just before they added the W1000 cause when I went back there it was.

Would there be any difference between the A1000 and W1000 sonically other than the material for the cups and the 10g weight difference - maybe extrapolating from the 100s?

Uh oh, my wallet is twitching again.

Desdription has pleather earpads, but the photo looks more like cushy velour. Which ist?

Too bad they arent blue. I wouldn't be able to resist that.

Excuse me, I have to got stop my wallet. It is trying to dial the phone...

The earpads are a leather like material. There is a link in another thread to the type used. I was hoping the housing was unfinished Titanium but according to Kohn it is the same type of finish used on the A900.

As far as the sound goes only time will tell whether there is much of a difference between the A1000 and W1000. The different housing themselves may have quite an effect. The W1000 being only $60.00 more sure is a temptation for looks alone no matter whether there is a difference in sound or not.

Hmmm, a moderator could merge the two threads if they so desired...

"ARRRGGGGHHH!" says my poor wallet.

Damn, where is Beyer with their new DT880? If they don't get it out soon, I may just have to give in and buy the new ATs. I love my W100s, but I would like a closed phone with better bass while retaining that sweet midrange. Could the W1000 be that perfect headphone?

The first thing to pop into my mind is, er, sects. Yow, they look good. And comfy.

Oh, BTW, how do they *sound*?
Anybody on the west side of the pacific rim heard them yet, or shall I be an early volunteer and throw caution, and cash to the wind?

Drool,

WMS

im struck with AT disease, and must get my hands on a pair...and of course that means someone (YOU) needs to post a review

boy, if Audiocubes gave a discount to members here I would've pushed the check-out button in a second but right now I'm wondering if I should wait for reviews - just wondering out loud thats all

Agreed. I think that for the good of the community, one of you will have to lay down your credit card and review these phones so the rest of us don't die from the paralysis of anticipation and curiosity.
