I was thinking of getting a GR07X, but the non-replaceable cable is making me worried so I guess have to take a leap of fate and got the GR09 instead. I hope I like this just like the GR07C.

Just got my Gr09 black ceramic version. For some reasons it took two weeks for shipment from China to US. I have tried mojo, fiio x7&am2a, and iPhone 7. I think it will certainly be a new benchmark on around $300 after mass production. iPhone 7 is not enough to drive it but the sound is still not bad on iPhone 7. It is much easier to drive than gr07x. The sound is kind of perfect on its price range and much better than gr07x.

Black ceramic is no longer available. Only white and gold ceramic now. I mean Vsonic no longer make black ceramic version. I'm very disappointed.

Yeah, they'll be releasing the gr07 limited edition with gr09 drivers for something like 290-300 bucks but for me that's kinda insulting given that they were selling the ceramic gr09 with detachable cables for that price and now expect people to pay the same for cheaper materials and build.

They charge 399 for ceramic GR09 now.

I'll fully admit, I'm a huge Vsonic fanboy, but in this case, I'm steering well clear for now. And besides, GR07s were ~$170 USD when they first released. 09s will eventually drop in price as well.

It's plastic. The outside surface is electroding to a sliver metal look like.
