Well if that was recent then you will probably be getting a bill in the post from DHL soon asking for 20% Vat + duty + £5 admin fee. That is what usually happens when buying imported items.

No it came via Chinese postal system.

The Ety HF5 and Hifiman RE272 are the ones that stick out the most in my mind. However, they don't come close the the GR07's prowess in the mids, bass, and transition between the 2. I'm wondering what the RE-400 sounds like, but not enough to buy one.

I'm curious about the RE-400 as well... I had and sold the RE-ZERO, but the RE-400 is said to be an improvement in ways.  It's getting alot of praise for it's performance based on it's price point.

Eh? What is this rehoused gr07 you speak of?

The CEO of Vsonic announced it a while back. It's going to be a metal housing....and cost like $4-500. If it's as good as I think it'll be, I might just bite the bullet and deactivate my account on this site.

If bought from mp4nation, they usually mark it as gift and declare a reeeal low value

Yes they do. My brainwavz were marked at a lower price as were my Shure's from the US. Everyone does it lol. You just email beforehand to make sure.

Also, $500 is a bit too steep for these earphones. If you wanted to spend that sorta money, surely you'd look at custom ones?

Is it really?

The GR07 compares with (and is better than, IMO)

The $500 SE535
The $450 IE80
The $400-$600 Heir 4.Ai

Is about equal to

The $300 FX700
The $1,000 FI-BA-SS

And this is inside a housing that is limiting it's capabilities. I can't wait to hear the driver when it is set free.
