yeah, I'm waiting for my TCL S960 with 16 gig to arrive and probably will max out the available 12-13 gigs of storage pretty soon. I would gladly sacrifice 1 of the 2 available sim slots for a microSD slot but I have DX50 anyways so...

I don't like the lack of a micro-SD slot on the Xplay 3s.

The Xplay 3s appears to run Android 4.3 (with “Funtouch” on top –whatever that is). The Xplay 3s might recognize added storage via micro-USB. That would mean that with a (micro to USB 2) adapter, you could add a 128 gb small flash drive that would hang off the bottom (like my Dragonfly off my Note 3).

The idea that the XDA crew could root the Xplay (remove Funtouch--whatever that is) and add V4A sounds great, but that seems like a future project that may or may not happen. I would prefer it if iBasso worked on its DX100 by adding the (now old) Qualcomm 600 processor with KitKat (rooted with V4A pre-installed) and shipped it out (saying, you guys have fun).

For me I will stay on my rooted V4A Note2 Exynos and wait for more reviews on the new coming DAP's X5, DX90 and Calyx M.
A rooted 3S with V4A and a micro SD slot would have been just perfect for my needs. But the capacity storage has broke my dreams

The Vivo XE800 earphones that are supposed to be paired with the X3S look to be OEM'ed by VSONIC? They look like an Apple-fied VSD1/S...

But, apparently, it has more in common with the GR07, using the same 11mm, 50 ohm impedance, bio-cellulose (yes, apparently they're still making them with this material, contrary to rumors) drivers.

Strange to go to so much effort to cater for audiophile sensibilities, yet omit a card expansion slot.

Really, I do find that strange.

Members often attach add-ons to their source to bypass the DAC and amp sections. Perhaps here you'll attach additional storage instead (that is, if the Xplay 3s can recognize external storage).

My Note 3 (with Android 4.3) recognizes this 32gb flash drive instantly.  If I were going to put it in a pocket, I'd use my cable so as to curl it (instead of the plug in the picture).  Plus, I'd buy a physically smaller flash drive.

Again, if the Xplay will recognize the storage I can still see trying this phone. The flexibility of a powerful processor,  adding V4A,  and trying different music apps (that are already largely bug-free) is a definite bonus.

vivo xplay 3 s as well as TCL idol X + do have usb OTG function, so yeah - they will recognize it :)
