LOL!

That's quite a surprising spec list...

If it was 5" rather than 6", I'd be more interested, but I'm still interested anyway.

I can't see any mention of memory card expansion slot (the device is quoted as having only 32gb onboard, which is nuts for a screen at 2K resolution, since video files to take advantage of that are going to be rather large)

Please post links here (in due course) if you find any reviews of this device.

Cheers

Hi, PCWar -

I suspect that Xplay uses the ESS9018K2M, which is the mobile version of the 9018. If I'm not mistaken, players such as iBasso's DX100 contain the regular DAC.

Regards,
Brian

  No expandable memory+no AMOLED=fail.

I don't mind if has no AMOLED    (I do like the high-contrast, colourful, AMOLED screen on my SGS2, though)

I did a google search about the Vivo Xplay 3s, and no one seems to know if it has expandable memory slot or does not

I will probably get one of these if there is no competitors to its specs by the time its out. I would have liked to see a Micro SD. But apparently it supports OTG. It probably won't be released to the western market for quite a while though :frowning2:

Nice!    This will be the target of my next cell phone purchase.    It's a bit pricy though.

Scheduled to release on Jan 15 2014.  May slip into Feb, no one knows yet.

audio related specs
Vivo went all out with the audio features - the Xplay 3S TI OPA2604 amp, ESS Technology ES9018 DAC and the DTS Headphones:X, which enables 7.1 and even 11.1 emulation. Vivo offers a selection of 200 movies that work with the Headphones:X feature (the streaming service also offers 400 1080p movies and 1000+ 720p movies, but no QHD movies yet).
Chinese etailer Tmall will start taking pre-orders for the Vivo Xplay 3S soon at a price of CNY 3,498 ($580).

The Vivo Xplay 3S is powered by a Snapdragon 800 chipset - quad-core Krait 400 CPU at 2.3GHz, Adreno 330 GPU and 3GB of RAM. On the connectivity side there's both TD-LTE and FDD-LTE.
The camera (rumors had little to say about it) is a 13MP shooter with a fast f/1.8 aperture. Next to it is a fingerprint scanner and there's a 5MP camera on the front. Vivo has created a custom camera app called Photo+, which shares your videos to the cloud and features augmented reality.

what the hell???

it costs only 580$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Making a proper headphone lineout is more expensive than buying the dac itself, if I am not mistaken. Maybe that's where the price comes from.

if clip can accomplish impedance of 1 ohm in 30$,,,whats stopping other ppl??
