Violectric V222 and V202

The V202 is completely SE, and the V222 is balanced. Not completely balanced from Input to Output. But the amplifiers are balanced, and that means more power and better control. That makes the sound difference between the two. I don't know if the V222 has a wider soundstage than the V202, as I have not heard the later in comparison.

Thank you. - Still I do not understand, why Fried Reim would describe the V222 as "balanced" when it is actually not. "Not completely balanced" for me means "not balanced", and "balanced" means "completely balanced" - again: for me.
It is balanced at the output amplification stage.
Not fully balanced from input to output.
It accepts balanced in and then converts the signal to single ended and then differential balanced for the output.
Four different amplifiers each for every phase.

Re balanced output vs fully balanced: you can read threads, here and elsewhere, on this topic until the end of time, and you'll find no concurrence about which design is absolutely the best. That's because such concurrence is impossible: each designer does things the best way he/she conceptualizes, and then implementation and build quality bring it over the finish line.

It's all academic to me anyway. I've never had a balanced output DAC and probably never will; I already have such bad gain issues that having a DAC output 4.0 - 6.0 volts (double what I get from my single-ended DAC now) is a nightmarish idea.

And yet I strictly use balanced cables with all the headphones that matter most to me. And I can readily hear the subtle sonic advantages of balanced output vs SE output on amps that offer both (ie, V281; Monolith Liquid Gold X; Cavalli Liquid Spark v2). All to say that amps with balanced output amplification stages are my preference, and I get benefit from using them.

Happy Sunday all. Am looking for a “one and done” that would power my ZMf Atticus, LCD-XC, HD600 and Sundara… would the V202 do a great job with all of these? Actively looking at the Lake People G111 MKii or Cayin IHA-6… but could also just go all in and then wait (significantly) longer to upgrade my DAC (currently IFI Zen Dac V1 or Chromecast audio puck). Would like to hear any perspectives. Cheer’s.

I would like to ask a question about the volume of V202.

Is the RK27 a multistage volume with clicks?
or a smooth volume with no steps?
Ultra smooth when using the V's pot, no steps

Really??

V202 arrived today and I was expecting smooth operation.
But my V202 has a step and click volume.

change the specs....?
All I can read is that V202 comes with ALPS RK27 but if you can hear step/click when rotating it means that comes with step relay, let's find out if anyone knows more about it
