Thank you very much kind sir.If you open the case you will see the chips on the corresponding PCB.
Tenor TE8802 is 192 kHz, XMOS is 192 kHz too.
Tenor TE7022 is 96 kHz.
Bought V850 from this forum, and I have RME-ADI-2Fs. I will do a comparison when I get the V850.
I'm not looking for a better sound, but more coherent look as v850 will stack nicely with my V222 amp

Highs: More energy with RME on the hight end, sparkle that sounds nice.
Mids: More life like on V850, somehow smoother but also more accurate.
Lows: Bass guitar might have a bit more detail with V850, otherwice no difference
Separation: V850 takes the cake, instruments are layered better and more air in between them.
Soundstage: V850 has a larger soundstage, this adds to separation.
Neither is clearly better than the other, but I prefer V850, someone else could easily choose RME to be their favorite.
The vocals have just enough difference on it. In comparison for example Sam Smith sounds
piercing on RME. (difference is small tough)
Tried both of my headphones and ended up with similar results.

Okay, now I have a problem, my computer only has usb 3.1 and 3.2 ports and V850 is not recognized. Hovever I have USB hub attached to one of the ports and it works thorugh that. Would be nice to be able to connect directly to my PC tough.

Get one of those dedicated USB cards. I have a Startech with a dedicated controller for each port. Solved a good few USB Audio issues for various DACs. They should be available for cheap used even.
Hi Guys,
I currently have an opportunity to buy an V850 for 800€. Do you guys think, the V850 is still worthwhile getting with things like the Eversolo A6 being around?
I use a D30 Pro + Violectric V200 + Utopia at the moment. How does the V850 stack up to more modern DAC or Streamer + DAC offerings?
Will be using it via USB + Roon with Tidal.
I am under the impression that the Violectric AMPs are fantastic, while their DACs are rather mediocre. Is this correct?

their DACS are excellent, as far as my experience goes. at that price point.
Older post but yeah, I have compared praised RME to V850 and both are excellent. And as you have v200, it stacks nicely with V850.Hi Guys,

I don't know if i will "upgrade" my V222+V850 stack in the future, it feels and looks perfect to me.

If its anything like the V800 get it. i have a V800, will upgrade the amp to a V280 balanced. (two transformers) This can handle high impedance phones like the T1 gen2.
id say the V200 and 850 stack would be a nice pairing. (as mentioned above) USB for the win : )
I was going the V222 , but seeing the V280 is not much more, im going with that.

Not much to add to above other than the fact that I love my Violectric V850 /V280 combo. V850 dac has smooth, organic, clear presentation with visceral mids while the V280 amp has the tube-like warmth, staging and punchy low end. Perfect synergy in combined music rendering and they both stack nicely.
I didn't end up replying but in the end, I got the V850 and what should I say: it was clearly a very wise decision.Older post but yeah, I have compared praised RME to V850 and both are excellent. And as you have v200, it stacks nicely with V850.

The sound is as many of you have described: smooth, organic but clear at the same time. Very long time listening friendly.
The only adjustment I made to the Utopia is an very slight Low Shelve EQ at 103Hz by 2dB with an Q of 0.25 to get a very slight bass/lower mids boost.
This helps electric guitars sound more "meaty".
Absolutly amazed by this setup and compared it to a friends Questyle Twelve Master last weekned. The Vio setup is definetly smoother sounding and has a much better gain control, which alows to actually use the potentiometer past 12 O Clock.
