Alright , I’ve decided to make fw10000 my last headfi review and retire unless something really graps my attention. After HUM reference, which should be a fairly quick receive, I’ll start the fw10000, which will be rather long.
I redemoed the z1r, U18 , Hifiman 2000 , Solaris, and a few Fitear iems and hands down the jvc sounded the best. Seperation, details, dynamics, tone, depth, sound stage goes to the jvc 10000.
Have lived with my FW10K for a couple of weeks now, during which my U18+dream duet combo found no air time. Demoed the Solaris inbetween and can't imagine any reason to get it.

I really like the build and ease of fit of the solaris. I like the solaries beefy sound but its mids to treble sounded conjested. Plus bass didnt go as deep as the jvc.
How is FW10000 signature compared to Azla Mk2? Are they similar (in term of overall signature, not technicality as I assume Azla should be severely outclassed)?
AZLA MK2 likes Pepsi or Coca-Cola. It is kinda fun & raw dynamic feeling with deep sub-bass and pretty wide sounstage. Pretty good for its price-point. While FW10000 likes a high-class wine. It has very realistic tonality both instruments and vocal, even hand-clapping sound still nice and pleasant to my ears and its presentation is neatly placed. Some IEMs I feel why a drum hits above my head (which is not a correct positioning in my opinion) FW10000 is not, and of course FW10000 detail retrieval is outclassed.
BTW likes any TOTL IEMs, one comes with high expectation. Somes might love while somes might hate (or not much likes enough to decide to buy). In Thailand, I believe there are 10+ persons went to try FW10000 demo unit, and people who decided to purchase it is about 4-5 persons as I know.
Heh, I get that analogy about Azla. It is kinda raw sounding with very obvious BA sound and subwoofer-like dynamic bass. Still can't figure out FW10K signature though, but I guess it's a moot point for me anyway. Can't justify shelling out that much dosh without proper warranty since they're not officially being sold where I live.
@sodesuka : AZLA is more sub-bass focused sound-sig with overall relatively brighter tonality while FW10000 is more balanced sound-sig with tends to warm tonality and sweet-mid. Sorry if my post can't make you get a picture.

Was told that second batch of japan release arrived few days ago at the various stores for those that had pre-ordered it, but all were already taken up beforehand so none was left. But production was already ahead of schedule (second batch was estimated to be release mid-Jan initially). Next batch expected to come mid-Feb.
