Right now only japanese manual is available. English version will probably be available by tomorrow.

Gain switch won't have any effect unless you turn off Typhoon and turn it on again.

Here is some summary of each switch position on Typhoon.

You can download manual from this link when it become available.

Thanks guys for the help :)
Right now I'm doing some experiment regarding the gain switch, still can't differ both :frowning2:
I'm using DT770 Pro/80 Ohm

With my MH335DW, I can hear the difference between low/high gain but it's very small.

I really think you are hitting the 80mW ceiling power limit here... and this is one of my biggest beef with the SDT.

You keep saying 80mW but Hamada san himself told me that "the power output is 120mW+120mW (32ohms) @ Gain-High" in an email.

Not sure why, but the manual said 80mW at 32ohms.  Did they changed this for the final version?  But again it is really 120mW it should sounded much closer to my VERZA.

Yeah, well the original Jap "poster" had the stats at 80mW but the updated English poster has 120mW. This was the reason I emailed them.

I'm not so sure myself though and you could very well be correct.

That's just funky... but again it is a moot point for me as I only tested it in low gain, and I can always switch to high and get the volume I want.  I guess I was a bit spoiled by the VERZA's power that's all.

Awesome. Thanks for updating us mtthefirst!

audionewbi, please do me a favour and change the thread title to "VentureCraft SounDroid Typhoon". Everytime I click on the link to this thread, my OCD goes crazy. Hahaha. Nothing against you personally, I'm sure you spell impeccably when you want. :p

I can see that they still haven't fixed the screen shots...

Finally! I am now able to set the Typhoon to work as stated in the manual. Took several attempts before I got it working properly

Now when I play any music files, the blue led indicator will reflect the correct sample rate.

Nice, but mine is still not working under the SDT driver, and the details under my USB Audio Interface doesn't say "SounDroid Typhoon USB Audio Device", rather just the generic "USB Audio Device"...

I'm glad it seems to be working for you all. I've once again given up.... You'd think being able to fully understand the language of the manual would help but following it step by step still doesn't work.

Besides, my desktop setup is better than the SDT anyway and I was only trying to make it work so I could try a few DSD files. Oh well....
