Not only this, it also automatically plays music even if you close the app and kill it from recents menu. For all it's pros, it is indeed very difficult to keep them plugged in on standby.

Unit variance is a norm at this price point. Also, more than QC it seems to me an issue with the firmware's logic

Careful of using this in your smartphone. I usually sleep with these and VE Monks on and I got waken up by stranger voices. Turns out that these automatically answers calls so it answered a random call from a stranger while I was sleeping. Not sure if it's just my unit but that's pretty terrible. I made to sure that it's not just my phone since I tested different dongles and family member's phones. VE Odyssey consistently automatically picked up calls.

It often calls up Google Assistant while I listen to music
