I appreciate the observations. I have been contemplating Runabout amp someday and this would be a nice excuse. Though my main source is my iPhone 5S and I don't know about lightning to 30 pin adapter and Fiio LOD cable vs iPhone 5S headphone output to amp...or perhaps just getting a standalone DAP.

30-pin -> Lightning connector to FiiO LOD is much less expensive than buying a DAP :wink_face:

In my experience, for the same price you always get better performance from a good amp vs. a DAP. Of course, DAP -> Amp would be higher-fidelity but why not be happy with iPhone -> Amp for awhile?

As with others, I've found myself reaching for them over full size cans many times and find I can't pop them in when I'm supposed to be reviewing other gear because they're just too much of a distraction!

p.s. I run those online stores myself (taobao and AE), but our team members help me with the photo and shipping, so if there is something in our store or stores, I will the one to fix, but AE is a stupid stupid site, it is years behind taobao.com to say the least.

Received my Zen yesterday took only 7 days to arrive in the U.K (which is a minor miracle) took me by surprise I wasn't expecting them to arrive so quickly. They really do sound amazing I have been listening to the monks for a few weeks now and these are definitely a couple of steps up and should be even better after 24 hours of burn in. My ibasso DX90 powers them easily and paired together make a great combination although I will also try an amp to see if there is any noticeable difference in the sound.
It is safe to say I am really happy with them and as soon as I can get some peace and quiet and get my family out of the house( I might lock them in the cupboard under the stairs

 

) I will hammer them with everything i've got from Miles Davis to Rage against the machine
