V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

Hi Val,

It would be also interesting to break the package. I donot know about other people, but most of my friends only use headphones with Audio cable to there laptops including myself. We need a good headphone, something like what M-100 looks like, and also in a reasonable price.. Is there a way to get these headphones with just the normal audio cable (without any buttons) for a lesser price.

BTW. i work for a Software industry (SAP) myself and am a quality engineer there... I hope u understand the needs :)

Cheers
AJ

How will be the bass/beats response M-100 as compared to Crossfade LP2? I own the crossfade lp2 and the bass response is just perfect.. I wish to buy the M-100 but am not sure about the bass response in it. Any comments would be helpful..

No one has them yet... I don't think you'll get a in-depth review until these 1st runs have shipped out.

It would be cool if there was a adapter that would allow you to plug the M-100 into a Xbox controller.

This is a great idea.. especially if Val ends up including a boom mic with the M-100. All you need is a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter (just make sure to get one with 3-pins so the mic will work). Here are a couple of options:

Thanks for the links. If Val adds a mic with the VTF-100 orders I might have to order a adapter and give it a shot.

Regarding the Bluetooth idea, I actually picked up a cheap Belkin Bluetooth Receiver (about 1/4 the size of an iPhone), disassembled it, and stuck the board inside the left cup of my Crossfade LPs. After soldering everything up (which was very easy, since everything was already soldered and labeled on the connection board inside of the LPs) the result was great. 100% wireless music with no noticeable loss in quality with 320kbps MP3s. The problem was powering it; the receiver uses ~200mah of power, plus driving the headphones, so you need some decent rechargeable cells. My cheap single cell liPos ran out within 15 minutes, and they were pretty hard to cram into the limited space. I bought some larger capacity batteries, and am planning to swap the old ones out when the new ones get here to see if I can get a little more time between charges.

I don't think a setup like this would be too hard to implement in a V-MODA headphone, and shouldn't be too expensive either (the cost of the Bluetooth module plus the batteries was under $30). Not sure about a stand alone plug though, because it would have to contain a battery with enough power to drive the headphones.

This is a great idea and I'll definitely look into it eventually if no other options present themselves. An internal solution would be awesome but I'm not sure how feasible it will be. Personally, I wouldn't want a Bluetooth adapter with less than 5 hrs per charge (and you're only getting 15mins right now).

nah thats unnecessary in my opinion

Relax, I'm not even wanting a headset personally but I'm still keen on the idea from V-Moda's point of view (they could get some serious cash there as "gamers" typically just check for "gaming-branded" headsets from Razer etc) but obviously they should offer two versions and I don't think any1 meant that mic would be included in the default package. Normal package would be M100 at $299 and the mic included version would get an own name and maybe some extra accessories and obviously a mic for say 329~$349. This would obviously be like probably at least 5-6 months or something (mic will need quite a lot of testing and ensuring it's up to standards and the press stuff etc) before it would be out most likely in case it would be decided today that such a product should exist.

There's such a cash potential to gain here though in my eyes for V-Moda. :p It's the right kind of headphone/product to take the spot as the best headset out there.

If you plug it into the controller all you will get on the headset is the other people's voice.  You want to go with an Astro MixAmp if you want to get game audio and chat voice.
