m100s arent suppose to be natural

Yes they are. That is exactly what they are. They aren't supposed to be neutral. But natural accentuates what you would hear in the real world.

Even if that isn't the way they were intended (which I doubt, as they intentionally increased the bass, and gave the highs a bit of sparkle (though rolled them off to be less fatiguing), that is the way they sound to my ears.

Why are they out of commission? I know your volume knob broke off on the VAMP, but what happened with your VERZA?

Today randomly Verza connects but there is no output out of the headphone jack and sound comes out of my Iphone 4 speaker as if it wasn't connected.  I already emailed V-Moda, but they are West coast, so I probably won't hear anything until later today.

Hopefully V-Moda can talk me through a fix, but I tried charging, removing cables, turning on and off, moving levers, etc., no change.

Hmmm... Strange. And there was also that iOS 6 debacle with the original VAMP. I'm starting to lose faith in the product line.

Or just make their own from scratch.

i would like to see vmoda make amps that compete in the fiio price range just saying.... 500$+ 100$ for a phone case is just too steep for a portable amp. if it was sitting in the 200$ range it would be a no brainer buy for me and some other people that like to eat food.

I'm looking for a backup amp since my Vamp and Verza are presently out of commission.  Between the C5 and E12, which does a better job bringing out the low end of the M-100 with/without bass boost?

What do you mean by 'bring out'? I find the C5 to have a clearer, more defined bass so in that regards it's 'brought out'. However, since the E12 is warm, I find that there is more bass in quantity. With the bass boosts on, the E12's bass boost sounds like a narrow-band bass boost at the lower/mid-bass. With the C5's bass boost, it reminds me of a green-yellow ZO2 bass boost (wide sub/lower-bass boost); because of this I gave it the term 'theater bass' since it improves the rumble. That being said, the C5's bass boost is more than that of the E12 so it's more situational. I use the M-100 almost exclusively for mobile listening so the I find the C5's bass boost more functional for my purposes.
