I can't help for thinking about how well will the hype around M100 meet the satisfaction of the customers? ^^ M100 seems to have just skyhigh expectations, probably unrealistictly high in many cases.

Well - it all depends on what expectations you have.

My realistic expectations are that they will beat the DENON AH-D400's, PSB M4U 2's, and Audio Technica ATH-M50's in regards to build quality and sound quality. My hopeful expectations are that they could even beat the new DENON AH-D600's in regards to sound quality.

We just have to wait and see.

All I know right now though, is that it's "Matter-than-Matte" for me.

If they're not curing cancer and getting the accolades and adoration of children in Africa then they're going right back to V-MODA

Well that's pretty high expectations already. Already being on par with those would be very nice as they are $100 expensier but M100 would also offer better build quality and style for my liking so that's also a plus.

Expectations: accentuated bass and inoffensive treble. That's it. I'm also expecting that both the M4U and K550 will outperform the M-100 in certain areas. What I judge to be "best" out of the three will be a purely subjective assessment based on overall sonic performance, comfort, and build quality.

Even if they aren't as good as those without an amp, it would still be cheaper to buy an amp to go with the M-100's, than buy the M4U 2's which have a built in amp.

Either way - here's hoping. I think they'll at least come close, if not, be better.

Honestly that's all I'm really expecting. Something with a bit more imbalance but more "fun" than my DT1350's.
