My M100 came back today from repair at V-MODA! It only took them 1 day or so (although austrian post took 3 weeks to ship the thing, came back in only 5 days though).

Thought it was generous & good service to repair the headphone for free despite it being an amazon warehouse deal with no warranty. :)
what??

I contacted them asking if they would honor the warranty on amazon warehouse and they said no

I might go back to normal pads as well, i think ive lost some sound characterics which i liked with the M100's using the xl pads.:)

I feel that with my XL pads I lose out on some mids. Pushing the cups closer to my ears brings it back which is why I feel the stock pads sound better. Too bad they aren't comfortable for me so I still have the XL pads on my set.

Based on my ears, this is the case for me too.

XL = U shaped
Stock = V shaped

I bought the XL pads, didn't like it, then re-bought the stock pads because I ripped the first set. lol.

Different strokes... I guess.

I am not going back to stock pads. The comfort plus bigger bass (perceived?) are what the XL pad provide to me.

For anyone that is interested, my M-100's are up for sale on the forums: http://www.head-fi.org/t/714497/avs-mid-fi-audio-sell-off-headphones-daps-and-an-o2

Love the things but they just haven't gotten enough use.

My white M-100 is about 1 1/2 years old now and the headband is starting to peel and crack all over. I fixed some of the initial spots with liquid leather but more and more tears and cracks keep developing. Has anyone else noticed this problem and if so, which color headband do you have?

My matt black, although not as old, is still perfect.

My white M-100's are approaching 1 year since purchase date and I still have no cosmetic issues with the headphones themselves. I try to treat them well, but they seem to have avoided any visible damage as a result of falling or being thrown into my backpack with no case or any similar everyday dangers.

Maybe it's from walking through the rain with them. I did that a lot.
