How would you explain why I feel there is more bass when I am not stuffing tissue within the stock pads? For example if I press them against my ears, bass sound more stronger than when it's looser. I'd think the closer They're to ears, the more bass there is

I also tried tissue under the stock pads.I think the bass is the same but you loose the vibration.Without the tissue your ears are closer to chambers which gives more vibration.

But the XL pads are structured differently. The outer walls are flat which seem to keep the vibration. If I remember correctly.

The XL pads (similar to fostex alpha pads in my opinion) are able to maintain sub bass better because of the better seal.
Although like both pads, distanced the drivers from my ears, recessing the mids a tiny bit (though noticeable) and lowering mid-bass. The mid-bass is what makes the m100's punch, and is actually noticeable for me when driving the bass to outrageous levels.

In my opinion like most people said, keep the stock pads if they're not cumbersome. I actually ordered another set of stock pads because I ripped the first ones when replacing them with XL pads... >.>
I actually like the feeling of air getting pushed into my ears instead of the sub bass.

The sound is ok, and I love my mids, but it's hard for me to wear the M-100 as long as I wear other headphones (hours) with the stock pads. It's fine for quickie listening.

This album (preferably lossless) is what my V-Moda's do best. Turn it up. If you've got bass boost, turn it up.

You all should really try this.

I've been looking for a kink-free audio only cable for the M-100s (and my XS), but the V-Moda audio only cables are almost 6 feet long.  They are light and flexible but they do tend to kink up.

I found a Mediabridge cable on Amazon that fills the bill.  The link is HERE.

I just got a couple of them in today; they cost $8.00, and are available on the Amazon US site.  They are very well made, and the step-down connectors fit perfectly into the M-100s and XS, and also into my iPhone with a case on.  They are not quite as flexible as the stock cables, but they do not kink at all, and they look great.  Secure connection, good sound, no noise.

The 2 foot length is great for when I keep my iPhone/Vamp Verza in an inside jacket pocket.  The 4 footer is plenty for carrying the phone and amp in any other pocket.

ever had pads fall off on you? :D

Tbh the classic pads design like the AT m50s are better.
they also dont force you to destroy your own hp's

Yes :frowning2: once i take off an earpad it usually never stays on securely again (MDR-V6, Koss TBSE). Now they're too easy to take off.

The way Beyerdynamic-style pads come on and off is best to me. If you've ever messed with that, it's super easy and plenty secure. Basically there's a rubber-ish ring on the bottom of the earpad that slides around a small plastic lip on the ear cup. Easy as pie.
