Using DT880/990 Pro headband on '05 models

I spent hours searching for a thread like this.
 
My DT880 has the sticky headband problem too.  It literally pulls out my hair.  It's annoying enough that I wanted to get another pair of headphones.  Replacement headbands would cost me more than $50 shipped =/

wouldn't there be success to email BD that you need new headband because your old is unusable anymore, and to choose leather one available in manufaktur?
That one looks much better (probably will be much better head-friendly)
