Announcing a New Tour Signup Thread - Burson Audio Conductor 3 Performance
This is the DAC/AMP family that I have been using to review my CIEMs to see just how far they can scale. I was thrilled with the lower cost Buson Playmate until I got the Conductor 3 which I am reviewing right now which is blowing my mind. Please go to the thread below to sign up and to find out how good your CIEMs really are. The Wraith has never sounded so good, and the Valkyrie scales extremely well with this DAC/AMP and is what I am listening to right now.

Empire Ears Valkyrie

Early listening impressions:

No hiss on Sony Walkman or iFi Audio Pro iDSD

Warm and inviting

Controlled

Mild V-shape

Bass hits with authority

Bass is a well controlled and powerful subwoofer

Amazing sub-bass extension

No distortion

Clean and clear

Mids are lush but a little lean

Treble roll-off top end

Treble sounds slightly muted

Treble lacks a little air and sparkle

Turning on Sony Clear Audio+ the treble sounds more open and airy

Soundstage is average intimate

Exceptional instrument separation

Great depth and layering

Incredible spatial awareness

Detail retrieval is excellent across the board

Forgiving of badly mastered music

Please note I have not looked at any graphs or read any other reviews on the Valkyrie or Wraith before listening to them.

Also, these are the most expensive IEM I have ever held in my hand or that graced my ears. My most expensive IEM that I own is the ADV M5-1D $400.00. So this is an out of the world experience for me.
