Upcoming DAP from xDuoo - the X10!
Feb 26, 2018 at 1:33 AM Post #1,726 of 1,751
I just emailed support at xDuoo and asked them to issue new fw for the X10. I may start doing this on a daily/weekly basis. Maybe if WE become a nuisance, they may capitulate...
I believe anything from customers goes to their "spam" folder directly  I dont think they even open the mail box of their customer care id. Or they open it with 'pop-corn' in hand?

Hello Head-Fi Team :)

Any idea why my Xduoo X10 do not want to work over optical with my amp Sony TA-F650ESD? I can hear only noise. This amp was produced around 1991 in Japan.

But my TV, sound card AIM SC808, CD Player are working perfectly over optical with the same amp :).

Moreover Xduoo X10 is working 100% OK over optical with Sony home theatre amplifier made around 1996-2000.

I have only problem with X10 and TA-F650ESD.

Any ideas?

I guess that amp only supports PCM 44.1. Did you try playing some .wav files ?

I tried only flac and mp3.

On top of the amp there is diode which shows frequency. There are available: 32, 44 and 48 kHz.

mm. Either the DAC doesn't work on the amp. Did you try a CD player with this amp before? I guess the xduoo is already giving out pcm so it shouldnt be a problem then.

I use CD Player over optical with this amp, as well as TV over optical, as well as AIM SC808 PC soundcard. Everything is working. Only X10 do not want to work with this amp :).
Of course I will try with wav files :).

I'm also looking for one.

According to a Russian forum the sound degradation on my unit is due to the battery.

Some X10 owners from Russian mp3 forum mention the same problem with degrading sound, and state that the main problem for this is the battery. If you have a possibility, then try replacing it or just check if it is in a good shape visually.

Normally there should be some circuit to provide constant voltage / current to the PCB in such devices, so that it would either work or not work. On the other hand, if a capacitor has gone nuts, it may degrade the sound. On cold start sometimes the sound may be ok. But as the player gets warm, the caps with drifted may be acting weird. This can be cap itself or the batterys warmth that can make the cap go mad. Just a speculation. If battery was the problem, there must not be any sound degradation on a cold start with full battery, connected to the mains for charging. Have 100 percent battery, leave it to the mains and see if the sound degrades. In this case, even if the battery is the problem, the sound must not be degraded. Or try using a power bank. It must be a cleaner source.

you should search for 604680 battery on aliexpress https://ru.aliexpress.com/item/best...32793523928.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.KsVMDQ

Other X10 owners made changes to original batteries from Samsung or LG batteries. You need Mini Micro ZH 1.5 2-Pin JST Connector to do it or use termoglue

P.S. Link for russian forum with battery discussion, u gotta be registered to see pics.
http://player.ru/showthread.php?t=178889&page=114

P.P.S. Some enthusiasts have released a custom firmware which partly solves the problem of remembering position of the track.

I finally picked up the X10T transport. I've been curious about it for a long time. Well, not only does it not have gapless playback, but it also cuts off the beginning of each track like some of the older budget Chinese players! Yet another piece of useless garbage from Xduoo. Seriously, why do we keep buying their junk?
