@nekatrall - the wait time for null audio is a killer. besides, my school is near Stereo in Singapore so i decided to go with them instead. their customer service are awesome too. anyways, the um6x are really good. anyone with UM3x should consider going for it :)

Anyone knows if Fisher cable fits UM remolds?

Also do they remold Ortofon E-Q7?

Thanks kobayashi. Also I mail'd to UM and they said they can mold E-q7, so I am going custom

You don't want to use the Fisher cables.  They're pretty low quality.

And Last thing I want to ask; do they give any cables? They say "If you need um cable, pay more usd59". I understand here that they give a cable; but if I want um upgrade cable I have to pay 59$ more. Is it true?

No.  The UM reshell does *not* include a cable.  Also note that they charge more than UE or Westone for the UE and Westone cable, so you are better off getting the cable on your own unless you want a "UM" cable.  Personally I'd say the UE Custom or Westone ES cables are probably the best value.

Thanks for the answer ccfoodog. I am thinking about getting a good cable or maybe do it myself. I have a friend who builds cable, I will talk to him what we can do.

Do you recommend any cable besides UE or Westone cables? Up to ~100$

x2

I used many different cables with my JH13's and settled on the Westone ES. It's flexible, good quality (long lasting) and very revealing, I've asked for sockets to suit this cable for my W3+6 remould :)

Have anyone heard about custom E-Q7 or will I be the first?

I am very anxious about the nozzle thing. As you know, EQ7 has large nozzle and a big dynamic-like balanced armature. UM told that they can do but should I trust them?

If you do get that reshelled thru UM let us know how that goes. I would be pretty interested in something like that.

You would definitely be the first.

Most probably I will send them this Friday and will see what happens.

If it goes wrong, I will be open to donations

Well, my W3's and moulds left here today for the long trek to China.

I'm anticipating about a six week turn around so anything better will be bonus :). Anyone know when you have to pay them? Is it when they receive them and they go into production or when they are despatching finished product? I'm trying to work the funds around my vacation that is coming up in a couple of weeks......
