may i ask whhat amp is paring with mest?
Sure! Hiby R5 Saber. It uses OPA 1642 LPF and AD8397ARDZ(s) for amping I believe and Cirrus CS43198x2 DACs.

The Hiby R5 Saber is probably one of the most underrated DAPs available when looking at specs alone imo. Over 1W of power in 16ohm and dual flagship DACs in a package you can grab used for around $300. Insane value.

for those of you who upgraded your cables with budget options from Aliexpress, can share what you purchased please?
I'm currently using a Xinhs Graphene 8 cores. preferred over the stock for a slightly better extension (both basses and highs) and slightly better technicalities (specifically transient/attack). but as usual YMMV, this is just my experience and my preference.
I'm using a DX311MK2 and Azla SednaEarfit, absolutely love the combination.

Interesting. I've been looking very hard at the graphene cable as it's the only material I haven't in my collection. It's a beautiful combo you have there. The blue case really pops against the gold. Have you tried any other cables with the Mest?

So I found an interesting cable on AE. It seems to have a similar construction to the golden ratio. The actual cable structure itself and the conductors used are of different size. They start small on the outlay and gradually get larger through the midlay with the inlay conductor being the largest.

This is an interesting geometry and I'm gonna order it and test with the MEST.

Looking forward to testing a pairing something new with the Mk2 until the new EVO arrives.

not so many... I have tried a very cheap ISN C16 (pure copper, way too much basses), a FiiO LS (pure silver, way too much highs), a ThieAudio EST (silver plated copper, nothing really wrong, but at the same time nothing special), but nothing worked so well as the graphene. just to be clear, the stock is quite close, and I think it's just a matter of personal preference...

Eartip update...this is turning into a full-time job. I decided to try the medium Comply TSX-500, after initially dismissing them, and they are my current favourite. Yes, they definitely increase the bass, but surprisingly, the highs are still quite bright. I have Radius Deep Mounts and K Bear 07s coming this week so we'll see how that goes.

Here's my sum up after spending a day for tips rolling.

Tested tips: spinfit cp100, cp100+, cp145, cp155, cp360, cp500, cp1025. Radius Deeps Mount, EPro EP01, SednaEarfit regular, SednaEarFit XELASTEC, EBGVP W01, A07, BGVP Electric Blue “ArtMagic VG4” and Stock tips.

Selected 6 tips to recommend for mk2
From left to right

1. Radius Deeps Mount (most expensive tip)
Have a very unique sound signature, if you going for natural sound signature. This tip is not recommended.

2. Sedna Earfit regular
All rounded tips, good mid range with tight bass.

3. BGVP Electric Blue “ArtMagic VG4”
Bass and low-mids are detailed, punchy and dynamic. Midrange is clear with excellent separation. Vocal position is ‘just nice” Soundstage is realistically wide without sounding too spread-out.

4. Spinfit 155
With it long extended tips, it's provide better insert and bass.

5. Spinfit 360
For those who wants less brightness for mk2.

6. Spinfit 1025
For bass head & soundstage lovers (most comfortable eartips, shortest stem).

Tested with Stock PW Audio cable and Shanling M3X.

I find TSX-500 excellent on Sennheiser IE900, I was surprised also how they didn't suppress treble or impact soundstage.

Absolutely agree about the Hiby. I use the R8 for most of my listening, but I also have an original version R6, and the MKII's in balanced mode were absolutely stunning. In fact, I had listed the R6 to sell, but promptly took the listing down after listening. Truly a gorgeous pairing. The highs seemed to be even brighter and clearer than on the R8. I'm still researching, but I think I'm ready to pull the trigger on the Dunu Blanche.

The Spinfit 1025 is advertised as being for Airpods Pro. Is this the only type of 1025, or is there a "non-Airpods" version that you used?
