mistertom: When I'd shipped my freqs over for a remould they came back telling me I needed to pay USD$80 more for replacements of my minds which were spoilt (very weird)... had to pay anyway in the end. =\ Hope your repairs cost less!

Lol its unfortunate that you minds were spoilt and needed replacement. But its a good thing i guess, at least you get a brand new functional custom which will hold out in time

Mages just arrived at 4pm earlier (about 4 hours ago). Finally!

Snapped lots of photos, but unfortunately I have yet to get a DSLR (still deciding which model to get), so I used a regular Fujifilm digital for now.

I'll be uploading photos in a bit, followed by a review if I can manage one.

Here, some photos before the full review (should take some time, though).

I've put them in links as I don't want to stretch the page.

Perfect fit! (Same cannot be said for left ear, though)

Picture spam, I know.

Awesome shell quality. Just a few minor imperfections - there are air bubbles at the sound bores, so it's not as flawless. It could just be my case, though.

Either way, very happy with these. They're not exactly flush with my ears, but I'll give it a few days and see if I really need a refit.

Great pics Zarium. Your efforts won't go unappreciated. I couldn't see the imperfections seriously, and they look great. I almost choose the same colours! How is the internal fit though? good enough? tight? did you use a biting block? pardon my excitement but I can't wait to get mine.. I hope they're alright

Enjoy!

I doubt I'd be able to capture the imperfections with my current camera as well - goes to show just how infinitesimal they are.

The internal fit is good. Isolation is decent, but what I appreciate is being able to pop these in my ears easily. With my UM3X I had to squeeze the tips and stretch my pinna to insert them. They don't fall out or anything, and they're comfortable.

I used a biting block (actually I bit my Westone UM3X case

), but I think I forgot to not smile during the curing process. It was towards the end though, so perhaps it didn't deform the impressions (thankfully).

I understand your excitement, I was in the same state of mind prior to FedEx knocking on my door!

I got the color ideas from another person's remolded TF10s actually. He took beautiful pictures and I just thought I had to have the same! Mine don't look as nice as his though; but maybe it's something to do with the lighting/camera. I'll upload the photos for you to judge.

so I just got my mages. I'm quite impressed with the speed, the accuracy and the sound stage. but I found the sound to be a bit thin..but then I put my fingers on the monitors and push it a little bit further in, and omg what a great bass, just the right amount, and seriously good quality. but i can't keep pressing on them. so in this case, is it because the seal isn't perfect enough? should i redo the mold?

As for me, the sound becomes thin if I smile with them in. It's like the bass suddenly disappears. Then it all goes back to normal when I stop smiling.

I find the fit to be quite alright, it's just annoying that smiling causes the sound quality to collapse. Interestingly, yawning or opening my mouth to its maximum doesn't break the seal at all.

Not a very pleasant experience when I have it plugged to my desktop setup and if something a friend says over Messenger makes me smile which in turn causes the sound to falter..

Great pics. FYI, you can get the Westone cable in all the way, but you really gotta push the plugs in. I wrapped the plugs in a paper towel and used pliers to push them in. It takes some elbow grease, but if it bothers you as much as it bothered me, you might be happy to know you don't have to have the plugs 90% in.

Zarium,

They look great buddy! But is the cable already oxidized? (see the green)

Nevertheless, beautiful!

The ones with the green/clear cable aren't mine - they're a remolded TF10. I simply managed to come across those pictures and thought they looked gorgeous, which is why I opted for the same colors.
