I just ordered a MKII from Andrew at Musicteck, so the excitement on getting it begins ...

This is the MKII prototype sample vs MEST. Not sure which part you are referring to. The nozzle/bore is about the same at the MEST, but the connection part on the shell is thinner.

Is there an mk2 version that uses the same connector as mk1 ??

It seems like my mood and level of tiredness affects how I perceive the MEST more than with most other IEMs. Sometimes it’s magical, sometimes it seems a bit too thin and bright. Soundstage and imaging are always superb though.

Yes, MEST is high maintenance; need best recording and conditions until it shines...

It was said that the MK2 will be warmer and darker, right? I'm no expert but looking at the graphs maybe the difference is less than what I wanted and expected. Or maybe I'm missing something here. I mean that doesn't look like there's much in it.

I have seen greater differences between the graphs of the L and R capsules of the same IEM than between the graphs of the Mest OG vs MKII.

It is logical that the difference is very small, if the only thing that changes is the bone conduction driver.
