Are the US red or blue versions the original or international?

I heard the Japanese one was tuned by the distributor there so it doesn’t sound like it’s found anywhere else.

The red/blue is the original version. The carbon black/grey is the Japan Exclusive version. We have made some exclusive versions for Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong where we know better about the audiences' tastes. We are relatively new to the NA and EU markets, so it will take some time for us to know more about the consumers. When we have enough information, we will make special tuned exclusive versions on certain models for NA/EU too.

Tell me about what the bone conduction driver does. How does one experience this?

During 2019 SIAV, we did a side-by-side comparison between a MEST and a MEST w/o bone conduction. The biggest difference is in the mid and treble, where the regular MEST sounds more natural and smooth. Technically speaking, there is a small dip between BA mid-to-treble drivers and EST ultra-high-treble drivers in terms of frequency response, which can be found in many hybrid IEMs. With the bone conduction, that small dip is filled, the upper body would sound smoother then.

For my own personal preference (as a European lol) I'd prefer a of added warmth, richness, thickness and note weight in the mids.
Other than that, there's not much to improve upon; MEST is already a superlative IEM

Yes, I have been living with my MEST for a few months, using sp1000M and Leonidas II cable and I absolutely love it! It has settled in so well...

This IEM is crazy good. Comparing with my Tia Fourte, the quality of sound is almost the same.
Smooth and correct.
MEST is little bit brighter, better sub-basses. Terrific tone balances.
I can hear every single sound of the music with vocals inside my head.

With my Azla tips I feel bone conduction transmits really well...opens up top end...this thing is a detail monster..great sound stage and coherency!

What about Fourté vs Mest in terms of soundstage please? I love big soundstage and Fouré is clearly about the best I've heard in that regard, feels almost ethereal. Thank you.

The difference between Tia fourte and MEST is not so much. but Fourte's sound stage is little bit larger than MEST.
