I have gathered modders from the X1,X3 and X5 platforms.

Existing libraries of themes will be linked to by this thread. If none exist they will be made. This is not "an alternative to" but is an an "in addition to"

  1. A dedicated Youtube/Vimeo channel (new one) will be made with the password shared by one modder from each platform
  2. A Photobucket account for them will be shared as well
  3. This will be a photo and video heavy thread with an emphasis on positive inclusive interaction and not exclusive
  4. Talking up and or about your favorite modders stuff is encouraged.....in the threads where that takes place now (existing threads).
  5. Instruction videos for adding custom mods to all 3 devices will be done as soon as possible

If you own/will own  and want to learn, see and ask this would be the place. If you mod and chat with fellow (insert particular device) users only the existing threads would be more appealing for sure. Unless you want to display your work, instructions or any other user friendly input.

Thread titles can be changed. If you mod another device but get not a lot of showtime then this might be where you wanna be whatever the device you mod

Notes:

Man the 2nd theme is so much easier than the first. The lost files the accidentally on purpose deleted stuff making me dig into windows 8 trash. I built over the 1st theme but the easiness came from knowing what tools to use for what. It was fun the 2nd time. No stress no worries no nothing but making it what i wanted.
The start screen is ******* nuts gorgeous. When I saw that led Zep pic I knew what I was gonna do...and I did.
I also want to be the first to try stuff and I did. Worked out nice.

This is version 1.0

Based on my first theme after feedback and thought (I still got some stuff to change...little stuff) I will do a 2nd version and the final checkout will be v2.1 and done.

This was fun as hell. If you have never modded I can say I didn't even have set of tools. no photoshop nothing. Just some free stuff and some online stuff and that's it.

Easy instruction vid to update/upgrade your firmware for an X5,3,1
Same as adding a song
You do not have to remove your mSD/TF card but you really  should eject the X5 from your 'My Computer" section before removing it from the usb.

This channel is free to use (Vimeo) If you have done a mod. It is group share and you can get the password. The YouTube account I use is mine so I do as I please but the Vimeo is group.

PM for password.

Anyone interested in creating new themes for the X1, X3 or X5?

Theme DIY Tool

I only put that in a spoiler cuz I don't wanna flip the page. That will be re-posted monthly.
That is the kind of thing I thought I would see when I started theming but I never did. That is probably the most helpful post related to modding I have ever seen. You sir....are out ******* standing!!
Nice!!!!

I'll add in here for folks who get to here and are wondering what they need....I don't own photoshop but have found
Paint.NET >>Here  (download)
Pixlr Editor>>Here  (online editor)
Lunapic     >>Here  (online editor)
Those 3 did the majority of my 2 themes work and are noob friendly as I am noob and can vouch for the easiness of use those 3 apps deliver

I can't take any credit for the instructions ... they come from the forum on Fiio's website.

I would have just posted a link, but you have to be registered on their forum to view posts.

Anyway, I hope it helps inspire some people to have a crack at creating their own themes (and adding them to this thread).

Hi TCD1975 hope you´ll update your theme in futures firmwares, if not how is the fastest way to update a future new firmware with the files of your theme?

I'll update the themes for future firmware as long as Fiio add features that matter to me. As long as they don't radically change the firmware, it should just be a matter of just copying the image folder from an unpacked version of the older firmware, into an unpacked version of any future firmware.

But if you want control over your themes, you shouldn't rely on other people to do the work for you. It's really not difficult to download the firmware tools and make updates yourself. All the instructions are here in this page, so have a crack yourself.
