  BTW you're not alone. The Hi-Fidelity had it's biggest day ever yesterday and folks who's first try is the Hi-Vinyl are seeing the Hi-Fidelity and switching. The top progress line is the Hi-Vinyl nose diving and the Hi-Fidelity rising from the dead. Very weird pattern. I will still do some final tweaks to Hi Vinyl anyway...I like it. First times a charm with that concept apparently?
 

 
 
I'm a data junkie...I had vagueness and unknowns. Data drilling takes a lot of that out.

So it seems I ain't alone after all. Odd considering I normally tend to be left-field with most things. Love the fact you even have trending on this stuff

Using HQ images to display the glory of a screen when the default and many alternates were basically 3 color themes.

 
Taking a Video of a Graphical User Interface. That's not niche' thinking that's pivot to the center.
 
I don't do anything by accident.
 
The thing you liked is simple, utilizes the full quality of the screen,improves readability allows for customization and lets a person without the skills to make their own dream theme get part way there by building a frame for them .
Made sense to me.
 
The Matrix theme that wowed me got boring fast. The thematic ones do that to me. It's the "Reasonable Person theory"
If I felt that way most others probably do to. Not all but most.  I was asking how to change my fw before I got my X5 and the Matrix was one of the reasons. Awesome concept. One of my fave's to this day. 
I consider the default G.U.I to be unworthy of the devices real quality. I made one better. I knew it. I checked. I know others feel the same.
 
The only...ONLY variable that cannot be accounted for accurately is how long the life is.  How quick will anyone besides the creator keep it on their device?
 
There is always a twist. Everything that can be called fresh can go stale.
 
Being inspired and using the energy and not the idea itself is the key to not biting someone else's work. I and other folks I have chatted with via PM (fellow modders)  note the lack of courtesy. The ranks will grow soon and they look fresh. A much needed injection. I don't worry about competition I worry about getting blatantly ripped...and so do other original thinkers.

Lack of courtesy is commonplace everywhere we turn unfortunately. No surprises there. I guess it's about doing it for the love of it. If people appreciate what you do along the way, then consider it a bonus, because having it as an expectation can only disappoint. That's how I approach life anyway.

 In Japan they have "Tatemae" which we would call lying or blatantly superficial ******** but it keeps a kind of balance. The 2chan fiasco and a buncha loons acting like fools is a byproduct of a society where you always gotta be paying attention to what anyone might think about what you might say and how they might react.

For a launcher a very sparse screen is fine but through the whole device seems a waste of fine ass screen real estate. And doing burnt orange is halfway back to the X5 original theme so....no
But for a simple start screen it could work

I think you have the right idea but might need to create a third dimension by using icons that fade into the background as they become the inactive option. Just thinking out loud. What else is new hey? Also, agree orange has been done to death.

See the other X5 thread. FW2.5 just announced. Might need to talk you into retrofitting my personalised hi fidelity for me once you merge it with the latest and greatest. To my ears, there are sonic improvements with this FW. There will be a cast of thousands that will disagree with me.

Nah, I was playing with a future idea while it was in my head and I had 10 other things to be doing.....that's how it works...for me. Do it while the spirit moves you.
I will do it as the 3rd of the "Hi" themes. My version of simple...which will not be simple at all beyond the launcher. Thanks for the X5 fw heads up

Hey did you guys improve your product? <<Does that make sense?  Of course they did if they can. Will they say that? It's more complicated from that end.

 
The X5 2.50 fw is clearly....CLEARLY superior to 2.40.
 
Folks with older ears have degenerative hearing loss. I don't expect anyone over 50 unless they are going against the grain of human development to hear detail better than myself.
Better....is also a matter of opinion.
 
IMO the highs 4k and up with no eq are much smoother and peaks have been trimmed or altered.

Gonna maybe revive a more retro brownish theme that matches much better with the new defualt font.

I'm not sure who is themeing for the newer X3? You can find the X3 themer in this thread and PM him. Maybe he got the new one and is themeing that.
