If I had the money, I'd be tempted.  I found the D5000 for 400 open box so I jumped on them.  I can't afford anymore than that.

If they aren't Beats, then they can't be as good...

Hmmm... Edition 8.... *drool*

But I guess they are just too much bling to use on the street, in the train, at work... or would you disagree?

id wear them around.  But i wouldn't because i have iems for that.  Its amazing i thougth the pro 900s were so accurate until i heard the edtion 8s.  They take it to a level that doesn't even make sense in my brain, but i like it.

Sounds awesome. But the frequency graphs show extreme bass roll off below 100 Hz. Would you agree or is your perception different?
Could you briefly compare the soundstage?

this is meant to motivate you when your sitting there thinking "should i upgrade ....or not, or wait."
They don't replace the 900s for me though.  They are that different.  Still precise ultrasone sound, but different animals.
My D7000s on the other hand are gonna be sold.

New here and after much research and debate I just ordered the Pro 900's with a Fiio e11...any feedback on this pairing?  This is my first real expensive high end headphone purchase, and after the headphones i was on a tight budget for the amp but im open to upgrades in the future.

Its a good combo, the E11 bass boost really rocks the 900s. Feed it with a line out if you can.

Fair play Jibbe, the choice between a 900 and D2000 is tougher than most people would think. and I'd rate the comarison review is a fair assesment. However I would not let the 900s go so I have the D2000 at work and the 900 at home :)  win \ win.

all this denon love makes me I want to take them denons home now and give them a rinse through my main set up :D

Hey everyone, I just wrote a pretty big review comparing the Pro 900 to the Denon D2000.  It was a really close and tough comparison.  You can read it here.

As a bit of a spoiler, however, I decided that I liked the Denon a bit more for my current preferences, and as such, am selling my Pro 900.  You can find the classified here if anyone is interested.

The Pro 900 has been an amazing can for me for the past year, and it is near unbeatable for EDM, I just like the comfort and soundstaging of the Denons more, and they still provide for adequate bass.

Thanks for reading guys, and thank you for contributing to this thread I started so long ago.  If its fine with all of you, I'd like to keep posting here about the Pro 900 so that I can help anyone and everyone decide if the headphone is right for them.

Thanks.

Dig up "Chameleon" by danish electro-artist Trentemøller, from his album "The Last Resort". With my Atrio M5's and now my Westone 3's, this track practially knocks the fillings out of my teeth.
