Hi there Area 51 welcome to Head-fi

The best bet is to burn them in for about 100 hours.  I could only stand my 780s in short burts when I first got them, now they are fine and can get 3-4 hours play a day without fatigue unles I crank up the volume.  You could also EQ down the highs in th mean time.

Sorry , but that is not what i mean.(i live in Belgium , so forgive my English). What i mean is that the headphone has a lot of pressure on the side of my (big?) head

Haha ok sorry..

They will loosen up over time my 780s were the same.  Stretch them when not in use  on something that will give them a little flex like a football or similar.

I feel the same too when I first received SRH840 , I let it clamped on a box overnight . The next day , I tried to use it , WOW ! The clamp pressure was gone and it is so much comfortable ! An advice for you ,  try to find object which having the similar size as your head or smaller ,don't go any bigger . If the object is too big , the headband will probably loosen so much that fall easily on your head .

Just scored a pair of these beauties a couple weeks ago. I'm hooked. Anyways, they clamp ridiculously hard straight out of the box, but I wouldn't recommend stretching them too much to fix it. The clamp helps with making a good seal, which generally makes for isolation and good sound. They stop hurting after a few days =]

also make sure you have the right size adjusted on them, I have to wear mine at 6 clicks anything less is skull splitting.
