The price has nothing to do with being twice as good.

But the Ultrasone ED 10 will be better than HD 800 for some people.
Just like some people found the Ultrasone ED 8 to be better.
And some people will find the HD 800 to be better.

Whether they are $1500 better is the real question. There's not a $1500 price gap between the HD800 and the Edition 8. It looks like there's $1500 spent on the luxuries Jjinh said, so if people have the money to spend on these all the power to them

Well is the HD 800 5 times better than the HD 600/650? That's basically what your saying here.

Yes the materials of it make it cost more and the fact that only 2010 copies are even being made which is a huge factor.
If the HD 800 had nice materials and only 2010 of them were being made I'm more than sure they would cost way more.

There are a few people from here that have pre-ordered it so we will have to wait and see.

Goodness's sakes.  That's a lot of money.  For that I rather get another O2 or an Omega.  All the bling aside, does it sound that much better to justify that price?

zebrano wood ear cup inlays,  kevlar coated cables, Ethiopian sheepskin leather pads, S-Logic Plus and whatever other special features it's got...

You forgot the "galvanic Ruthenium plating"... which if I'm not mistaken when combined with the zebrano wood is not only bullet proof but also blocks the emanations of certain rays from Sirius that are known to spoil one's evening if not properly understood and addressed.

Good to know my ears are safe from stray bullets that may be flying through the air as I go walkabouts the city!

Yeah no joke. When you start to think of other things you can get for 3k it becomes ludicrous to contemplate spending that much on a pair of headphones alone. That being said I guess to some people money isn't an issue.. so why not?
