Ultimate Ears UE 900 Discussion and Impressions Thread

Are these a good deal for $265? Or are there better headphones in that price range for around that price?

I'm looking for something that has less sibilance than my Dunu DN-1000's without killing all the detail in the high end.

It is a decent deal, but the UE900s starts popping up to replace the UE900 on the marketplace. Although that might be another couple of months before that becoming more apparent.  I personally find it less bassy and more mid centered than then UE TF10,  but it is still a pretty decent set of IEM that worth investing.  It will definitely doesn't lack in the billiance of the upper highs.

Well Dunu 2k is always an option, but the T-Peos H-300 have less sibilance.

An interesting point I've noticed about the UE900, on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 there is a function called adapt sound which gives you a hearing test across the frequency range and then adjusts the eq to get the best sound. I did this with the 900's and heard every tone in the test while they are often inaudible with other headphones I've tested.

Does Logitech sell cables as replacement parts? I'm particularly looking for an extra black cable, but their support site only lists tips and a carrying case.

They did, but I guess they stopped/ran out :/

Hi everyone, I just want to say that I have. The UE900 with ADL ho35 iem mmcx cable and it sounds fantastic!! Better than say moon audio audio. Silver.
This is my third pair, the first batch of the ue900 scared me a lot . This third pair have massive head room!! The first two had issues with power even from
A touch or ipod. Anyway I put the UE900 in there with my. Se535 with fiio Rc se1 cable. Yeah I'm very happy with my ue 900.

How are the microphonics?
Where is it sold?
I have the FiiO SE1 cable for my UE900 but I hate the amount of microphonics. On that point the stock cable is much better.

The microphonics isn't really an issue for me , I swap out the adl and fiio cables with the 900, 535, and 846 and honestly get really good
Results better than stock! At higher listening level and not to much movement the fiio Rc se are good. I get more high frequency energy

I've got this cable,

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Replacement-cable-with-Remote-Mic-connect-iphone-to-SHURE-SE535-SE425-SE315-215-/310711199421?ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:US:1123

Honestly, I couldn't tell the difference between the stock cable and this one, so I am satisfied just spending $14.38 USD. :)

It's all in the details.  As it never mentioned anything about what the cable is made of, what gauge it is, and what is the purity of the copper inside. I wouldn't be surprise at all if the sound quality didn't improve.  From looking at the listing, it would be as if buying the stock cable again, if not worse.  It is a good thing you only spend $15 USD for it, otherwise, I would say you got ripped off.
