Tying up long cords with duct tape (or tape in general)? | Headphone Reviews and Discussion - Head-Fi.org

I just got a pair of Q40s and the standard 3m cable length is too long for my liking. Right now I just have the cord looped in the middle and kept together with duct tape. Will duct tapes damage the cables in any way or should I look into cable ties/velcro ties?

The only thing duct tape will do is leave a bunch of sticky gunk on the cable. I'd suggest velcro ties to avoid this problem.
