Two new HifiMan players announced: HM700 and HM802

Does anybody else having problems with album artwork not showing on HifiMan HM700?
I've tried to put folder.jpg into album folder, tried to copy folder.jpg into tags (with use of utility "Tag&rename"), tried to name it "cover.jpg" instead, tried to change '.jpg' to '.jpeg', tried differnet sizes of images - nothing seemed to work for me... :frowning2: While I am able to choose any of these images through 'file browser' and see them, I can't get them to show on 'now playing' screen.
And I must add that I only tried to do such stuff with files in FLAC and APE (not that it really matters, does it?)
If you know some specific requirements for those images or simply not having such issues on your example of HM700 - please let me know

Does anyone know where I can buy/find a pair of RE400B separately?

My drama is I've just purchased HM700 though the RE400B weren't included in the sale.

I'd really like to make it a complete set again.

Did you try to contact Hifiman customer service? They are very helpful and can provide you a set.

Hi there,

I managed to find a RE-400B unit thanks to a kind member here.

I had contacted Hifiman and they said they could indeed sell me one for $119 USD shipped.

I managed to get a little better price than that, though Hifiman were great.

My latest adventure in bad customer support is HIFIMAN about the HM700. I have several hundred 16/44 FLAC tracks ripped from CD with EAC that will not play on the HM700. It displays "unsupported format". The tracks play correctly on AK100, AK240, X3, X5, DX50, DX90 and HM901 and report the correct format. Tracks ripped with other tools seem to be fine. I sent a message to HIFIMAN customer support along with a few sample tracks. Their response was that yes, our player can't play those tracks, so please convert then to WAV and back to FLAC. I was astonished by the response. Their software development staff must be lazy, incompetent or maybe just arrogant if they think that customers are going to reconvert all of their perfectly fine FLAC files so that they play on this $150 player.

I guess the HM-700 will be relegated to being an MP3 player.

No, none of Hifiman DAP can work with a uSD adapter.

Perhaps @ClieOS is referring to the Meenova, which is a different beast. Pretty sure the 901 worked with a uSD adapter.

Yep, should have said 'the' uSD adapter instead.

Hi !

Was thinking about getting the HM 650, finally pulled the trigger on the 802 as I got a ridiculous bargain,

Amazing player, exceeds my expectations does anyone know of a software to edit flac files in a way to make the album artwork appear ?

thanks
