So... does that mean you won't be making an adapter for me either?
Of course I will Mr. Lobal but I plan on starting to perform such destructive activities when I retire. Estimating that in Europe, after they'll increase retirement age, I'll still have to work around 30 years means you'll get them around 2055. Please remind me in 2054 about them. My advise is to buy starting from now a few pairs (6-8) because they might become unavailable.

Leaving jokes aside, I really find interesting the EC97/6FY5 tube, high value for gain, same for S, has to sound very good. But that pinout seems unique, I recently try to decrease the number of adapters used and focus on pinouts where I can reuse the same pair for more types. In this particular case it seems they do not work for something else. We will see if I will get bored enough to try these, in the meantime I'll focus on what I have, I already have a lot of tubes I never listened to.

Will check back next week, with the usual "Is it ready yet?"

Me too... have many I haven't heard in years or ever. Once you cave into curiosity and acquire some EC97, don't forget about the EC80 - with a mu of 80.

I have EC80 already and it is among my favourites. There are older pairs with foil getter. For example this one:

Or newer like this:

These are very good tubes, dynamic with a touch of old sound. Unfortunately in my adapters are a little bit microphonic, which of course does not affect the listening session, only you hear some glass crackels at the beginning when they start to heat. I consider these very good tubes.

Edit:

I have searched for my singles from EC92 and they are in fact 6 pieces. I made some photos to help me search in time for pairs.

The first 3 from left are branded "Philips Miniwatt" but the codes are various. I made a list of them to help me pair:

The Valvo code 4P/DP is strange to me, even if I have seen such codes on ECC40 made by Valvo and I think also on EL42.
Also the Siemens ones are interesting, VH = EC92 (new) while 31 = EC92 in the Philips code book.

Now comes my question @LobalWarming : Which version from the photo below with my 2 different Telefunken you like?

EC92_Telefunken.jpg

As you can see, both are diamonds with typical Telefunken ring getters but on top there is a small difference. I have a feeling the one from right was branded "Philips Miniwatt Import". I'll try to search around here if I might have more and maybe I'll pair some of these. Regardless to say, the most interesting to me are Telefunkens and the older D-getter Valvo one. A Siemens pair with "VH" new codes I already have and its excellent, I am unsure if the "31" codes need my attention.

It looks like a Tungsram Tottenham production to me.
Thanks for the hint, I was going in the same direction. I have in my collection this tube and that marking was looking similar to this:

Later on, searching, I have found this listing from which I'll borrow the photo:

As you can see, it's the same getter with the decoration as it was above on my tube.
