That would be knowledge. But then there are Gettier counterexamples of that definition to worry about...

A fact is just what is the case. A state of affairs that obtains. I'm tempted to use the phrase "observer independent"...but sometimes I worry about that. I worry in particular about what Heisenberg entails for a theory of truth committed to observer independence. But I want to defend a realist theory of truth, and I'm not sure I can do that with observer dependence...

Ah, what the hell. I'm neither a metaphysician, nor an epistemologist.
