Here's the official page for the Hunter, should be all the info ya need :p . And you're right @Podster , it doesn't use push-pull, but rather "voice coil" tech.

The other key factor in the Hunter for me is that Bob if I heard him right was using some if the best parts available:smiley: I'm expecting the Hunter to hang with some big boys:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: I don't know about most of you fella's but $700 bones is some serious nick to lay out at one time for me related to this hobby. Don't really care if it takes Bob another year to release the Hunter as long as it's the total Trinity package:thumbsup:

As far as I am aware:
  1. Sabre has the filters like Atlas - ie changes bass only
  2. Master 4 and Master 6 - Bob is currently looking at switching to Delta type filters. I had the Master 6 a week ago - just for a few hours before I lost a channel - but in my brief time with it, my recommendation was to go with the more versatile larger Delta filters. Bob was going to redo a prototype and see how it went.
  3. No-one but Bob has heard Master 4
  4. Cables are replaceable - so if Bob is making balanced cables, you should be able to order them separately

Thanks Brooko! (and "thanks" for the outstanding review which has set my wallet up for further suffering lol), and thanks to Midgetguy who also replied below!
Well.. This is a tough one then.. If Master 4 had the Delta type filters, I wouldn't hesitate to buy them. If it didn't though... perhaps not.
Please please please, Mr Trinity Bob, let Christmas come early this year!

In all seriousness, if he does decide to go with the Delta filters, is this likely to be confirmed on here (or on the sales website) prior to the end of the pre-order pricing date?

Here's hoping!

  Hi,

I have ordered the M4  because of the slimmer filters. Changing to the filter size of Delta would be a deal braker for me :(

Why?  You would be using whatever tips fit your ears - and the filter size would make no difference whatsoever.  The difference in diameter is only about 1-1.5mm max.  How could that possibly be a deal breaker?

The Delta filters are simply more configurable and allow consistent changing of both upper mid-range/lower treble and also bass.  The narrow filters (at the moment anyway) only change bass.  they are also quite tricky with tips (too small for many of the common ones).  Moving to the slightly larger nozzle just makes sense - all pros and no cons that I can see.

For me it is a deal breaker, because I love the sound of my Delta V2 and I wouldn't change for M4 if it has the same filter size, because of budget considerations ( I try to spare some for the hunter)
I am in the unlucky group of humanity with smaller ear canals, I can't get a comfortable fit with any of the tips.

The only thing which would change is the bore size on the filter - not the IEM body.  i think you are getting the two confused - as to what is not fitting.

Put it this way - this vs this
  vs
makes no difference whatsoever

when this is what goes in your actual canal ....

What you're talking about is the body shape of the IEM.  That I understand as the Delta V2 won't be for everyone.  but there is no reason why it's filters can't be

I can't use the soundmagic PL30 because the bore is so big that touches the canal even without tips, I did not find a tip so small that fixed that.
And I use the xs tips in the phonak, but only the original are ok, that are longer and less spherical that other tips.
My 2 cents. Tiny ear cannals are not fun :'(

quick question bout ear tips. In general how do the different ear tips affect the sound? As in what sound difference would a foam tip give compared to a silicone or flanged tip? Whats the general characteristics? It's interesting there's tips with different material

normally foam will tame treble and decrease details compared to the latter.

Just been chatting to someone @trinity and they were telling me that the Sabres should start shipping next week. I hope so, as I can't wait much longer to hear them! :sunglasses: :beers:

I'd buy the Spinfit tips for £8 and give a try with the XS. These might do it for you. There is also an extra small in JVC Spiral Dots. Best of luck!
