oh that's quite specific to my own experience. i kinda expect driver flex knowing its driver size and shell size - i just did not expect to be that loud or uneven. my left unit clicked a few times when in my ear, very audible. and the sound is obviously confied. it was almost worrisome, that's when i started to play around.

driver flex or tips, if you can't remove the noise, i would do the same by returning them too. it's just too loud and gets in the way.

I hear you, i also returned them because the vivid treble wasn't really my cup of tea. But i really hope you enjoy them

they're an awesome set, really detailed.

The treble is that bright?  Regardless of filters used?

For me it is. Since the filters just control the bass they don't really have an effect on treble as the deltas have, for certain songs they're too much for me. Another thing that bothers me is not exactly the quantity of the treble, some foams may attenuate that, it's the frequency that is being emphasized. It just doesn't sound so natural to me. It's too colored.

I'm picky with my treble, i really am. It was a shame sending these away.

For me none of the filters are too bright in my book. And I hate white hot aggressive highs. They are no slouch in the high department though. Presence is significant.

Filters wise gunmetal is significant brighter because of the reduced bass.

Red has the second brightest.

Rest are pretty much the same in the highs department.

Red was the second brightest? Strange, they are the bassier ones according to the website:

SABRE FILTERS
  1. RED = Enhanced bass. Offering a V shape signature while retaining plenty of musical detail
  2. ORANGE = V shape signature with slightly decreased bass
  3. YELLOW = Neutral + Offering a more balanced sound signature with a very slight increase bass over neutral with a great mid and high range sparkle
  4. PURPLE = Neutral - Offering a more balanced sound signature across the frequencies.
  5. GUNMETAL = Treble. Offering a reduced bass signature with an focus on upper mids and treble.

Maybe with all the bass, sometimes you want to retrieve some detail and it makes turn up the volume, making them brighter to you x)

For me it is all about the midrange. Gold seems to do the trick. That said I still can't get my head around the physics going on behind the scenes. All the filters look identical to my eye but make vast differences to the sound signature. Voodoo I reckon!

I am missing some more forward vocals (with good bass). I use the gold filters now but in terms of sound signature I prefer the ATH IM50 by far. Though the sabres have other advantages I am a little disappointed that I just can't find a filter that really hits a sweet spot. But the accessory is just superb.

Anybody else curious as to how the hunter will sound as its the TOTL trinity iem

Well in my experience there is the rule of diminishing returns. So my guess is that it will sound 10% more delicious than the PM6 which will sound 10% more chocolaty than the PM4 which you guessed it sounds 10% more dreamy than the already sublimely fantastic delta. Who knows though.

Totally agreed with it. You are always hoping for that one headphone that really open up your eyes

The secret is in the tiny ports.  They are very precisely measured, and each is a little different.  That is what makes the difference to the bass.
