TRI earphone impressions - I4 and I3, Starlight, NEW Starsea

Yah, it is very possible that I will have better results with my regular Azlas or the Spiral Dots. Just started with the Xelastics because I figured a good seal will help with bass response and I was looking forward to that part of the sound spectrum on these.

I use spiral dot (regular) with my i3

How accurate is the graph? if this is true, they are nice with sub bass focussed, slight warm, +8db pinna gain, smooth boost on 6khz and 7khz dip and 8khz clean boost for air.

Looks lovely graph wise. Thanks for sharing.

But there's supposedly 4 tuning options with 2 switches right? I wonder how they will change the FR?

What's the driver composition and count on this newbie TRi IEM?

2 Knowles BA and 1 DD with tuning switches. Looks interesting to me, don't have any iems with switches yet and the bass looks good here. Wonder what the switches do.

So the i3 showed up today. RIght away installed Xelastic tips and a 4.4 balanced cable (tripowin). Still in hour 1 or 2 so far. Break in is not required to enjoy these out of the box by the way...

If you review the feedback from this thread, you'll see that the consensus is a definite need for break in, only the amount of break is in debate. I clocked +125 hrs. on my set.

Enjoy the ride; it's worth it.

Yep, you are right, they definitely improve over time and break-in. It's best to use them and break-in over time...but they still sound great. The best is yet to come for new users..

I sure hope these sound amazing, cost no more than $130 base MSRP, and have excellent QC and consistency. If so, Tri takes over as king of the 3 driver hybrids.

I have TRI I3 ordered and while passing time till delivery from China I'm am wondering:
1. What tips do others find bring out it's best?
2. What is the nozzle size as may help me order correctly sized aftermarket tips?

Thanks! :smile_phones:

On your first question of tips which "bring out it's best"? I find that stock tips are fine. I have settled for the grey silicone tips with green stem. The green stem tips have wide bores which I find give a better balance of bass and treble, with some sparkle. Alternatively, for a darker sound, the white tips.

On your second question of nozzle size, I would say medium. Although I have not had any difficulty fitting tips on the spout, so my guess is medium.

I felt the need to change the cable, others did not, so you may want to check out the stock cable or use (MMCX) cables you already have.

Hope it all comes together well for you.
