TRI earphone impressions - I4 and I3, Starlight, NEW Starsea

The Starlight is an EJ07 clone. :D
Just saw this - as a Shuoer fanboy who closely tracks chifi these days I would agree 100% here all these ST7/Starlight/Volt etc. must be clones of the EJ07, but with different tunings 😃 These IEMs are real gems not to be missed ❤️❤️

Will ask my mate (who’s in China) to try them out next audio show 🤔

Yep, and they all seem like exceptionally good IEMs, just with variations on tuning, and perhaps different DDs. All 4 iterations are very well liked overall.

Received my Starsea today (Starlight is in transit).
Great packaging, disappointing sound. Bass is just... not there. Vocals are too thin.

Nevermind, I already knew from Youtube reviews that "Amazing Bass" tuning is required for them to sound best

So I tried to change the tuning...
The switch just wouldn't budge! The attached tool (SIM ejector) wasn't much help, it kept bending and eventually broke:

Is this a common experience among Starsea owners, or is my pair defective?

Eventually, I was able to move the first switch on both earphones, but I'm not sure it's the correct position - looks like maybe only half way through:

Is this as far as the switch should go?

This looks interesting, very interesting. I might just try a cup.

Haha, since you have already designed the configuration and name, why not design the shape as well? Just feel free to send me your draft. :sunglasses:
Is this open to others as well? I don't care if nothing comes from it, but as a product design student seems like a fun way to pass some time and test my skills in these plague infested times.

You are not having much luck. In my experience, TRI products are generally quite robust.

To answer your question, you appear to have got the switches in the correct order. Your setting is exactly as I have mine setup.

I hope you hear what I have heard and liked, from the Starseas. I have to say, it seems for many of us, they grew on us, it was not "love at the first hearing".

I had the same problem with one of mine. I had to be firm with it and I had to be very careful as I pushed very hard. It's one of those IEMs that if you AB with bassier fuller IEM's would sound thin. I think it's one of those IEMs to get brain burn in on. For many genres this is an ideal IEM, but bass warmth and fullness is not it's forte, but for much jazz and classical music these are a dream.

In your picture both switches seem to be in the same position.
I'm trying to use the the "Amazing Bass" setting - with the first switch in the upper position.

Can you post a picture of your switches?

The picture does not show the switches clearly. It is the Amazing Bass setting, the setting has not changed since the first week I got them, 1 up, 2 down.
