Tin Hifi P1 impressions

Just as bad as taking someone's 20 minute video where he's raving about the product after listening to it for one afternoon, and making a snap decision purchase on that.
Fair enough. But with that at least you could say that he's a reviewer that you trust and that your preferences align. Zeos is a pretty big deal, after all. But basically taking the very short opinion of what amounts to a random user is a bit much. We should all strive to hear things for ourselves before coming to a judgement. Which is why I'm waiting till they're on Amazon.

I agree he is a reviewer with a big profile, and with that comes greater responsibility. I just don't like his style that much personally. He doesn't seem to have that much experience with iems, and when he reviews over ear headphones, half the time he reviews them with alternative ear pads, which changes the sound. Besides, I trust more level headed reviewers who have more balanced perspectives. Sometimes Z is like a child that gets a shiny new toy but is hopped up on caffeine at the same time. at the end of the day the true quality of a product becomes evident with time.

Haha I can agree with that

Watched the Zeos review. Bit manic for me. To give the Bad Boy credit he admits that he has OCD. You really have two reviewers who get a bit over the top. Lets wait for some of the reviews of ordinary punters.

I guess https://www.audiophileon.com/news/tin-hifi-p1-review is not an "ordinary punter"? I thought that review was excellent. I find "ordinary punters" out there already.

Or https://crinacle.com/2019/06/21/tin-hifi-p1-unboxing/ ??

BadGuyGoodReviews gave it a relatively lukewarm review, and like Crinacle, he almost specialises in iem reviews.
That is, they have experience with a sht ton of iems, and at the end of the day the relative performance of products vs others of their like is probably the most important factor.

If they turn out to be that good I will buy them. Sorry but the hyped up frenzy does not do HiFi any favours. There is plenty of time to buy.

As true as that is on paper, you won't know unless you
Hi Tysun - The vent is a very small hole at the bottom of the nozzle on the side facing your ear. I just put a piece of electrical tape to cover it. Pretty simple. I did experiment with some more stuff and it didn't seem to make a huge improvement and actually made things worse. I put a "filter" sticker from a DIY IEM pack i have and covered the back vents on the outside shell side and it seems to clean up treble a tad but may not be worth doing.

Hi Mr KiteChaser, again. If you actually read my review, you would have seen that I tested on dedicated desktop amplification with plenty of power, as well as two or three dedicated audio players, as well as a couple phone adapters. I did test on all of these, because people who buy this budget IEM may have varying levels of source equipment.

And why I tested Rhianna? Because i was asked to and SHE IS ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR ARTISTS ON THE PLANET... so you may expect people to actually listen to her music with these on. I also listened to various other artist from other genres too to give a full-fledged fair and unbiased review.

And I did go through a ton of tips. I don't think you realize how many tips I actually use on every IEM I listen to. Here's a sneak peek of just some of them:

I'm not sure why I even have to explain myself to you anymore. I shouldn't. Becoming a waste of my time.

Want to know something scary? I have more tips than that! :astonished:

Expectations, expectations.
Remember this is a $150 earphone, and no, not a giant killer, as there really are few giant killers in this hobby.
That said, looking forward to the pair I ordered to see how they shine, keeping in mind that they are not perfect, as their price point implies.

Stay away from the hype and you may find an imperfect diamond in the rough.

Now that’s an image I could live without! Final Audio E tips are very good with most, if not all of my iems and I’ll be trying/using them a lot with the P1 when they arrive.
Now to my question, has anyone compared these to the DM6 or CA Comet? (2 of my favourites in this sort of range)
The Final Type E are definitely a very versatile tip - a go to for sure.

They have a very good shape/fit for my ears (rounder than most). However, I find they ‘congest’ the mid-high response a little bit so the tip I keep going back to is a Spiral Dot + Foam mod, although that leans the lows way too much sometimes.. and never been able to fit plain foam. (Comply Round XL suggestions anyone?)

So IEM/fit dependent, happy rolling! (I don’t know why tip rolling is not a bigger topic as a $5 piece of silicon can make a bigger impact than a $1000 cable :p)

And how many unique models? :p

If I wasn’t so lazy I’d start a tiny online tip museum, as there are so many nameless generic tips to navigate through to find actual variety.

(My collection is now embarrassingly in the “wow, you could have bought a ___ instead” realm. I suspect many are.. especially with at least as many tips than that photo!)
