I have the DP-X1 and its is just awesome!!! I have 2 200gb cards plus it has 32gb internal. There are 256gb cards now so even better. But I have a 200gb for Tidal HIFI and it works seamlessly, zero issues with the latest update. Really great battery life, android based, I only use mine as a player some use it to play games which I think is a bit overboard. But you'll be extremely satisfied if you purchase this!
Howdy now you have me excited! I would only want mine for music also. I love that you can fit everyrhing you possibly want on there!i have to have tidal because there is no way i could afford to buy all the music i have. Im saving up for a pair of noble k10 then get this next! I cant wait! You obviously love the sound coming out which is the most important part so that really makes me feel good! Thanks for your two cents my friend!

I have the DP-X1, the Mojo with iPod and DX80 paired with ifi dsd Micro which are to me the best and the DP-X1 is my go to! I pair the Onkyo with my Alclair CIEMs and it they have amazing synergy. I generally always use Tidal HIFI offline, I never stream it. My Wife and kids all use Tidal.

Just started using Tidal yesterday and was wondering why the 'HIFI' graphic isn't illuminated on a lot of the songs I've been listening to.

I've selected HIFI Wi-Fi streaming quality and unchecked optimized playback.

Could it be that this many songs don't have Flac/HIFI support or is there something I'm missing?

Using HTC 10

not all songs are lossless quality. If hifi is white it is lossless if grey it is not.some songs just arent available no matter what you have the settings on.

don't think it works that way from my 3 mo with tidal hifi (am now back to spotify premium)
usually when you're playing a song (from computer) at the bottom far right hand corner it'll be highlighted as hi fi.

just ensure your settings show hifi ...esp important if you're downloading songs as 'offline'
check the settings first for whatever devices you're using

Thanks guys. I just assumed everything would be lossless. Still got a month to assess whether it's worth it, otherwise will be back to Spotify.

If you're on hi-fi them yes everything should be lossless...should be no blend...ask tidal and get back to us with the results, however...maybe I'm wrong but I don't think so.

Is anyone else getting tired of waiting for tidal to improve their interface, and also stop displaying prejudice with their push of a certain music genre? I am on the verge of cancelling after a year, especially each time when I open spotify's app and see how well organized it is, withy a plethora of genres being advertised, and most importantly, great playlists to discover music.

The playlists tidal offers is abysmal. Why do they not learn, and are not improving?

For me, the interface is fine. The Amarra for Tidal interface, OTOH, is poor, but I still like the sound - it's a slight improvement over the Tidal app.
The home page is also fine for me; it does have an upfront preference (not prejudice) for hip-hop and r&b. And like Spotify or others, it has a zillion tracks of music of all genres, so the home page really isn't an issue for me. It's actually a relief (imo) to not to have the usual boring pop and country shoved to the front.
True, the playlists need work. Doesn't bother this user, since i tend to make my own, but they should improve and enlarge their curation.

Try Roon.  First month is free. It has Tidal integration and does a better job in metadata etc.
