I agree! I am actually very very happy with Tidal now. Pretty much everything is there that I need...except that there is always room for GUI, usabillity and sound improvements!

Regarding playlists. You have'nt missed Soundiiz...have you? http://soundiiz.com/?utm_campaign=Soundiiz%3A+How+to+import+playlists&utm_content=control&utm_medium=email&utm_source=vero&utm_term=Newsletter&vero_id=27651413
If not..check it out. Works with Tidal and might be something that suites your need...and is completely free as well!

Nope, I haven't missed Soundliz.  I hadn't used Spotify or Tidal when first started music streaming but I noticed Tidal was lacking in Playlists, so I checked out Spotify's user made ones.  I used Soundliz to import several over.

But the issue is Apple Music and Beats are not on that service.  So if I switched to that, I'd lose my playlists.  I'm kind of surprised Apple didn't make it easy for Spotify users to transfer their playlists over.  But then I guess that open up Apple to have theirs transferred out as well.

And on the Mac, I couldn't even figure out how to make a playlist with Apple Music.  Think you need to save to My Music first but then that failed.  Very confusing.  I was just playing around it but don't plan to use it.

I've got too much time on my hands :)  I don't really care one way or the other.

I think it's a great time for music fans.  We have all this music at our finger tips.

Didn't think I'd like music streaming but it really is nice to search for anything you can think of and play it in high quality.  Now that I've gotten used it, my only concern is that Tidal doesn't fold before others start offering lossless.  As said, I probably would have jumped ship and gone with Apple if it offered lossless.  It's monthly subscriptions, so nothing tying you to one service over the others.  I guess you might have playlists you need imported or using a stand alone app like Roon or Amarra for Tidal (when it's released) that might keep you locked in.

100% agree with everything said here. I do have many live, bootleg and indie recordings that I'd like to be able to upload, play and store in Whichever music subscription service I use but there are work-arounds to solve that. I'd also like to see them improve their radio functionality, so I could dump my redundant Pandora subscription - which I use for "set and play" in my house-wide Sonos system...

Well if Apple would start with lossless I am not their first costumer....but if Spotify does I will consider it for sure! Apple Music sucks IMHO!

I would be right there with you if Spotify offers Lossless/FLAC-level streaming.  I would be all over it in a heartbeat!

A new version of the Tidal player appeared and now it works perfectly so far! No skipping.
I sure hope Tidal survives, and I hope they get enough support and subscriptions to live on.
Having fun exploring Dave Edmunds, Nick Lowe and Rockpile...

Tidal is nothing short of a miracle for sound quality. It's as if the redbook 16/44 world was suddenly available in SACD. My EMM XDS1 with SACDs is rivaled by the Hugo with Tidal lossless. I hope everyone here gets Tidal.

The new version of Tidal for which system software are you referring to? iOS? Android?

I updated my iOS 8.4 (iPhone 6, 128GB) Tidal app to their newest version (1.7.0) yesterday, and it still has an issue of sometimes not immediately playing the next song if I navigate to another album/track/playlist that isn't on the same playlist I'm on. It can take up to 15 seconds for the next song to start playing. This is with LTE Verizon and WIFI, anywhere. Hopefully that will be taken care of in the near future.

I think he's referring to the Windows Tidal Player which just updated to 1.1.0.589 (1.6.0) on my system an hour or so ago.  Previously, the player would skip horribly, rendering it unusable.  Since the update, I've been listening, skip-free, for > 1 hr. and am very encouraged that they're solving problems.  Apple, Google and Spotify need a credible competitor, and I'm hoping that Tidal, with the lossless component, will do just that.

If he is, then cool, glad users of the Windows Tidal Player will get a more user-friendly application now. (Edit: rgs9200m confirmed with above post).

I would forgive the iOS version's slight quirks and issues if only Tidal can add more music to at or least near the pace of Spotify. It would be nice to get rid of one or the other instead of currently paying for both (half price for both at least).

Here is some info from Tidals FAQ page https://support.tidal.com/hc/en-us/articles/202694601-EQ-for-TIDAL-Platforms-
Otherwise I guess you have two alteratives as far as I know. One is buying yourself a bluetooth headphones like Parrot zik 2.0 with integrated EQ or find a headphone amp with built in EQ. As far as I know most of the equalizers in app formats is used with iTunes...but there might be others with better insight on this tread? After all...I am personally all for not using EQ at all. Better look for a portable DAC IMHO.

By the way, I'm trying Roon, and while the music info is great, the sound is not as good as the Tidal player itself. I thought Roon would just invoke the Tidal player, but it does not and the sound is compromised. I do like Roon though as a super-wikipedia for music.
I see that Roon has audio settings, and maybe it's processing the sound (for the worse). I played around a bit with the Roon audio settings, but nothing I tried sounds good. I don't see much help-info about the audio settings. Only the Tidal player used directly has the sonic magic.

Well I heard there was talk of Room integrating HQ Player into their program but then you'd need to buy that license (if you don't have it already) for $145.  So that should really improve sound quality but gets expensive.

Also, Amarra for Tidal (for Mac) is coming out tomorrow.  The Windows version should be out shortly.  I think there's a short free trial period too.  The newsletter posted this:
