Tidal Lossless Streaming
May 29, 2016 at 7:32 AM Post #2,551 of 5,203
I am not able to stream HiFi on my phone. Connected to WiFi and have HiFi enabled. It doesn't show its playing in HiFi.

Uninstalled and reinstalled and seems to be working. Seems strange because I installed the app in a brand new phone and few days ago and it worked fine.

it´s strange but if now works alla good.
in my android hone, when installed first time i had the tidal widget. now disappears

hey guys...newbie here to the thread..just bought a dragonfly red to
hook up to my new ipod touch.

once more trialing Tidal ($20/mo) alongside spotify (extreme) 320kps.

however, my question:
is there no EQ app for Tidal available?
I just downloaded the Onkyo HF player but that is only for itunes and android.

Tidal's site says they're 'working on it'...don't know how old this message below is, however.
https://support.tidal.com/hc/en-us/articles/202694601-EQ-for-TIDAL-Platforms-

EQ For TIDAL Platforms

''Adding EQ functionality within the TIDAL platforms is something we are currently investigating to integrate into TIDAL.''

no third party like onkyo out there that will work well?
am surprised Tidal doesn't offer that in their settings (yet)
given they're trying to be a premiere audio provider.

And if you cant find the sennheiser amp on the iTunes store directly (i couldnt using my ipad) then download it via the link on the sennheiser website

And once downloaded and your tidal details entered to connect to it then go into the apps settings to check what quality streaming it is

i'm really surprised (and disappointed) that Tidal doesn't have their own EQ setting
...imo it's a no brainer...

but maybe this app is their way around it.

hope you don' t mind, but here is a brief
trip down nostalgia lane, guys, as I compare spotify extreme 320kps with tidal 1400kps.

listening to one of my fav Rush title tracks repeatedly, going back and forth....
A farewell to kings.

Love Neil's kit...and those kimonos...lol.
enjoy (hopefully)

Code:
[color=rgb(68, 68, 68)] Dear customer, Thank you for contacting us. Our app only works on Android and supports  Tidal. And yes, we have a 10-band EQ. question to tidal users:

when you're downloading songs offline do you do so at a full 1400kps?
that translates into 10mb per min, if I have done my research properly
using this download rate
each 5 min song is 50mb....and with some 64gb of storage that is not alot of songs.

64gb x 1024mb = 65,536mb
65,536mb / 50mb (5 min song) = only 1310 songs.

or do you do a mix of flac or aac ..or what?
i'm just getting into downloading and trying to find ways to perhaps still buy
music online (as well as stream) and yet not have it take up a lot of space storage wise, when i do.

Don't forget that FLAC can vary in bit rate / size... To the best of my knowledge Tidal doesn't send WAV files out, so depending on the quality of the track, that could be as low as say 600kbps.

Tidal FLAC downloads do quite quickly eat up storage space, but it's so quick and easy to download or delete music for offline listening - literally just one click - that you can constantly update the music that's stored on your phone.

The facility to store music for offline listening on a laptop/PC is long overdue though - anyone know when this might arrive?

Storage space an issue? Ditch that iphone and get a proper DAP with two micro SD slots like my Onkyo DP-X1. With Samsung launching their 256 GB micro SD, you won't be running out of space before the 512 GB version becomes available :) Oh, can't wait for Tidal to switch on MQA option, I'm ready!

Fiio has the X5 II which takes 2x 128gb micro sd cards if your budget doesn't stretch that far.
