I used exactly the same type, it was nerved wracking trying to enlarge the hole with 4 difference bits.

Its always a little scary trying to get just the right size. Once the hole is too big there's not much you can do to fix it. Lots of love for the 3.5 mm connectors here. Usually folks ask me for the mini-xlr. Fun to see something different.

Any of you gents have some kind of contact with this Vibrolabs or willing to take/ send some measures of parts.....I have access to design software, a small CNC and 3d printer and laser cutter at work and would like to craft my own version of these (would buy kit but seems Vibrolabs is done for the time being)
