As the title states I'm thinking of amping my brand new M50s.... I dont even have em yet, but they're on their way.  I have a couple questions.

1) Is amping the M50s worth it? and,
2) What amp can I get for $30 and under(my budget)?

I've been looking at the E5 for an amp, should that be good enough for these phones?

Thanks for any help with this budding audiophile.

There really aren't that many portable amps under $30. The most obvious is the Fiio E5 and other than that there are cmoy amps on ebay.

I tried the E5 once, but I didn't notice much more than a volume boost...the M50 really don't need an amp to enjoy, so don't worry about an amp right now. You can always save up for a Mini3 or a used Headsix, both of which go for ~$100-120. For now, use the M50s straight out of your source, using high quality music files (V0 mp3 or higher should be fine).
