Been Eyeing for Monarch / Clairvoyance last time but got Z1R first in the end. How the twins compared to Z1R?

I have both the Monarchs and the Z1Rs. They are very different monitors and both keepers. To me, the Monarchs are reference monitors. Perfect tuning for my taste. I EQed the Monarchs to the Clairvoyance FR and it warms them up quite a bit, but it loses a bit of sound stage. Both Glorious sound The Z1R treble that extends for days and the best bass response of any IEM I've heard and it has a liveliness and excitement factor unmatched by anything else I've heard. Stock tuning of the Z1R is v-shaped, so I need to EQ them into balance. I also own the EE Odin and the Monarchs are baby Odins to me as they are strong in similar ways.

Monarch and Z1R are complementary monitors.

Good thing headphones.com has 365-day returns. But I love my Clair. Going to be hard to imagine buying a new ThieAudio that will likely be a lot more expensive (they wouldn’t sell at $700 I think, it would completely cannibalize sales unnecessarily; may as well go to market in another price bracket).

My guess is they will be in the $1500 price bracket to attack the $2000-4000 range competition.

Just arrived, they are very beautiful, but how hard was it to insert the 0.78 pins ... was it like that for you too?

Linsoul will send you the email after the arrival of the Monarchs, in one or two days you will receive the request from DHL for the customs payment.

Excellent review! The best explanation of qualities/technicalities I have read in a long time.
And since you have the M9 as well - how does the Monarch compare to it?
I love the M9's clean detail and imaging, but would like to have an IEM with similar technical ability but a more energetic presentation and a leaner mid bass tuning.
Have been wondering for a while if the Monarch could be that IEM.

Yes, the Monarch is a great alternative to the warmer and comparatively laid back sounding M9.

I don't wish. If they don't drop their prices and I can get iems that punch into their territory for half the price then my decisions are very easy. If they do drop their prices then my decisions become a lot harder (and my wallet lighter).
